About the Role:
Provides legal advice and counsel to Boston Scientific in a variety of areas, including: regulatory compliance, employment, product liability, contracts, securities, acquisitions and other areas as needed. Manages litigation and evaluates advisability and strategy of defending or prosecuting claims. Directs outside counsel's preparation of legal documents and handling of litigation. Represents the company in all non-patent related matters.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, advise on, and approve contracts across various domains, including supply/manufacturing, distribution, consulting, non-disclosure, real estate, research, clinical investigations, asset purchases, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Lead the management of all non-patent litigation involving the company, developing legal strategies and directing outside counsel accordingly.
  • Review and approve legal documents in litigation, including pleadings and motions; coordinate the preparation of witnesses for depositions.
  • Negotiate settlements and represent the company during mediations.
  • Review and advise on marketing programs, promotional materials, and product literature to ensure legal compliance.
  • Support Human Resources in the development and implementation of policies and in labor and employment matters.
  • Provide legal support during acquisitions, including due diligence, FTC filings, employment and benefits issues, and managing outside counsel.
  • Counsel on regulatory and quality-related legal matters.
  • Supervise exempt and non-exempt staff, including performance evaluations and career development.

 

Quality & Compliance:

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining full compliance with Boston Scientific’s Quality Policy and procedures.
  • Ensure the availability of appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) to support compliance with quality systems.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Law degree.
  • Languages: Advanced English.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in similar roles.
