ABOUT THE ROLE

 

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Electrophysiologist Business Development Specialist to drive the growth and expansion of our electrophysiology division. This role will involve identifying new business opportunities in strategic product areas, building relationships with key stakeholders, and contributing to the development and execution of strategic business initiatives to enhance our electrophysiology services.  

 

This role will be based in South East Queensland and will report to the Business Development Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Account Launch Expert:

  • Identify and coordinate the new product launches of Boston Scientific Electrophysiology portfolio range including FARAPULSE, Rhythmia HDx, Access Solutions and associated integrated product lines.
  • Develop deep understanding on the workflows and specificities of each hospital and business relationships with hospital personnel.
  • Site Launch lead in planning the execution on account education, physician training and coaching, new product in servicing, exceptional product knowledge and project managing all site preparation to ensure successful product launching, ongoing adoption and good patient outcomes.

 

New technology Lead: 

  • Lead new product adoption within the ANZ EP team for internal and external sales activities. Engage with all internal stakeholders to develop expertise across new and future portfolio ranges Ie RnD, product managers, Educators.
  • Engage with potential customers and generate leads by leveraging the product’s unique selling points. Educate entire customer stakeholder range including hospital corporate, department management teams, clinical teams on how the new product solves their problems or improves their business, ensuring they understand the value proposition.

 

Business Strategy Development:

  • Collaborate within BD, Corporate accounts, Marketing and Sales leadership to define and execute business strategies aimed at expanding the company’s market share in the electrophysiology space. This may include identifying strategic account partnerships, key opinion leaders (KOLs), building comprehensive centres of excellence (COEs) to drive sales growth.  
  • Setting and tracking business development goals and metrics. Analysing sales data, market trends, and competitive landscape to refine business strategies. Reporting to EPLT or internal BSCI stakeholders on business progress and strategic opportunities. 
  • Understanding the electrophysiology market, including customer needs, industry trends, and competitor landscapes. 
  • Identifies new business opportunities and accounts by developing and leveraging relationships with academic and research institutions.
  • Attend meetings, conferences and exhibitions as required, to promote our products and services.

 

Clinical Trial Execution:

  • Work with local clinical teams to assess the feasibility of new clinical trial opportunities, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
  • Lead and manage relationships with research teams, trial sites, and other third-party vendors to ensure trial quality, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Provide ongoing support, including clinical support expertise, to clinical trial sites and investigators, assisting with any clinical or operational challenges that arise during the trial process 

 

Clinical Expertise & Support

  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing in-depth clinical knowledge and support for healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and technicians. Offer guidance to all key account stakeholders on best practices, treatment protocols, and the use of BSC medical technologies and devices including: FARAPULSE™, POLARx™, RHYTHMIA™, LAB SYSTEM PRO™, MAESTRO 4000™, METRIQ™, Access Solutions plus support for the full range of Boston Scientific EP Catheters and future technologies. 

 

Product Training & Education:

  • Lead and deliver training programs, workshops, and one-on-one education sessions for both clinical staff and internal staff, ensuring proper use of products, technologies, and clinical protocols.
  • Support the adoption and integration of new products within clinical settings. 

 

 

Sales & Lead Generation:

  • Collaborate with the sales team to close deals and expand client bases in the electrophysiology market. Drive sales efforts by identifying and nurturing leads and developing tailored proposals. 

 

  • Work closely with the corporate accounts team, marketing, sales and clinical teams to ensure business offerings align with market demand and customer expectations and that aligned strategies are executed effectively. 

 

Quality and Reporting  

  • Serves as the liaison between customers and sales to manage complaints and ensure quality compliance, guiding leadership to maintain adherence to BSC Quality System and local regulatory standards.
  • Exceptional record keeping of all new launches, product and processes, KOL and account feedback to enhance future programs.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Applied Sciences, Exercise Science, or Biomedical Engineering. Specialised knowledge in electrophysiology or a related medical field is highly desirable.
  • Industry Experience: Proven background in healthcare or medical devices, with a focus on electrophysiology, sales, and business development.
  • Electrophysiology Expertise:
  • Strong understanding of EP procedures and technologies, including pulsed field and RF ablation.
  • Ability to interpret EP signals and navigate conventional EP workflows.
  • Experience with 3D mapping systems and troubleshooting in clinical settings.
  • Technology Launch & Adoption: Demonstrated success in introducing and supporting new technologies in clinical environments.
  • Relationship Building: Skilled in developing and maintaining strong partnerships with healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
  • CRM & Procedure Tracking: Proficient in Salesforce for recording procedures and aligning with commercial teams.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the ability to simplify complex clinical concepts for varied audiences.
  • Data & Documentation: Timely and accurate collection of procedural data and medical documentation to support team performance.
  • Team Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Active contributor to team learning and development, with a focus on raising clinical EP expertise across the business.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong strategic and analytical skills to assess market dynamics and apply technical knowledge in the field.
