About this role:

The shipping and receiving clerk is responsible for keeping records of all products shipped and received. They pack the goods in shipping containers, develop mailing labels and shipping documents and ensure that all orders have been filled correctly.

Their duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damages to inventory.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
  • Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
  • Promptly unloads trucks and deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables.
  • Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves and counting accurately.
  • Act as the primary interface with suppliers on delivery status, issues, and problem resolution.
  • Maintain the company stockroom through organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items on a regular basis.
  • Organizes and maintains inventory by identifying, grouping, labeling, and placing raw material and supplies into shelves or predetermined stock areas.
  • Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
  • Verify the type and quantity of each item by matching order to the packing list or invoice.
  • Inspect inbound shipments for damage, proper signature of drivers, and properly documenting and alerting management of any issues.
  • Properly stage outgoing items to ensure shipment to the appropriate destination in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all required labels and product information is made visible on each pallet or shipment.
  • Routes purchased items to inventory areas.
  • Issues raw materials for production jobs. Document material movement by entering transactions into computer system.
  • Controls inventory by conducting full or cycle physical counts of raw materials and finished goods. Performs necessary count adjustments into the computer system.


Required Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Background in manufacturing and 1-2 years of shipping and receiving experience in cGMP environment.
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations, including handling of sensitive or regulated materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have ERP experience. SAP, Oracle, QAD, Fishbowl etc.
  • Able to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong sense of time organization and urgency.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
