About this role:

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately handling incoming and outgoing materials, components, and finished goods in support of medical device manufacturing operations. This role ensures compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and company-specific quality and documentation requirements while maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient warehouse environment. 

 

Work Mode
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Receive inbound materials, components, and equipment; verify quantities, lot numbers, and condition against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Route materials to appropriate inspection, quarantine, or stocking areas in compliance with quality system procedures.
  • Document nonconformances and escalate discrepancies to Quality or Supply Chain.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare outbound shipments of medical devices, components, and supplies according to regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Generate and verify shipping documentation (packing lists, bills of lading, international shipping documents, etc.).
  • Coordinate with carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL, freight) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
  • Perform transactions in ERP/MRP system (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Support cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain organized warehouse layout including labeling, FIFO, and controlled material storage (e.g., temperature-sensitive or restricted items).
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO 13485, and FDA requirements for documentation and handling of medical devices.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized shipping/receiving areas in compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Ensure proper handling of hazardous or sterile-packaged materials per company guidelines.


Required Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or vocational training preferred.
  • 2+ years of shipping/receiving or warehouse experience; medical device or regulated industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and shipping software (FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts; certification a plus).
  • Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations, including handling of sensitive or regulated materials.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com—will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
