Plan-to-Make Product Owner

 

Purpose:  

 

Magellan is a global business transformation program accompanying a move of our ERP system from ECC to S4 HANA. Magellan’s goal is to simplify, standardize and modernize our core business processes, enabling BSC to better leverage the power of data and to position our business for profitable and sustainable growth. 

Reporting to the Manufacturing Transformational Lead, the Advance Team Plan to Make Product Owner will act as the primary point of contact between The Magellan Program and the Manufacturing sites (site leadership, site SMEs, and stakeholders). The Plan to Make Product Owner role will focus initially & primarily on the next phase of Manufacturing Site deployments specifically Cork, Galway & Penang Manufacturing and associated critical functions. This role will have a focus on early engagement with future deployments and represent the global Magellan program strategy and implementation roadmap; planning, communicating, influencing, and coordinating execution efforts across the manufacturing sites to meet both Magellan and business program objectives.  

The role will require collaboration across the network with Site Leads, Global Process Owners, Communities of Practices, Business Process Leads, the Magellan Core Teams and Site Stakeholders.  

 

 

Your responsibilities include: 

  • Develop a core understanding of the Magellan Program and the Manufacturing implications across all Commercial, Inbound, Manufacturing, Outbound, Finance, Change Management and Master Data work-streams. 

  • Possess a solid understanding of all the network Manufacturing Sites, complexities and challenges, staying updated with Operations strategies and Site activities.  

  • Map stakeholders, establish networks & communities, connect, mobilize and influence for engagement and collaboration. Create understanding, set expectations, sense of purpose & vision at all levels.  

  • Working with business leaders establish and evolve the SME / Superuser model as part of early mobilization. Identify key global SMEs, secure engagement of global process stewards/owners to get the right people engaged in deep dive and / or design workshops to make decisions on the big rocks once they are identified. Ensure the right representation to cover global and site requirements. 

  • Drive the site assessments, deep dive and Design workshop phase of mobilization.    

  • Driving responsibility, accountability, and ownership of actionable items across a range of topics, managing risks, solving problems and driving to speedy decision making and / or escalations as needed. 

  • Driving all project management disciplines, including scopes, charters, roadmaps, work plans, etc. 

  • Work with the business to identify “big rock” items and decision positions.  

  • Plan and execute for early business mobilization in areas such as data cleansing, application remediation, current state process mapping, process standardization.  

  • Educating business teams on existing global template 

  • Acting as a change leader, simplify the language and storytelling with change management at core.  

  • Communicate priorities, monitor and escalation of unresolved issues. 

  • Effectively communicate and influence across the Manufacturing Network with Site Leadership Teams the Global Magellan Program. 

  • Work closely with BCP team to proactively mitigate any risks foreseen.

What we’re looking for: 

  • Proven track record of delivery in Program Management or a relevant core function/discipline of the Magellan transformation (Inbound, Outbound, Manufacturing, or Finance) 

  • 5+ years’ professional experience 

  • 5+ years' experience working at a BSC Manufacturing site with End-to-End Manufacturing site knowledge is preferred. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, Engineering, Science or applicable field required, Advanced degree preferred. 

  • Previous leadership experience across the network or the Management of large change programs 

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and the broader Application Ecosystem, combined with knowledge of key business processes. 

  • Ability to shape, establish, communicate, and engage teams in the vision & strategy of the Magellan Program. 

  • Creates a sense of energy, excitement, and personal commitment to the organization by empowering others, rewarding, and celebrating superior performance, and creating an inclusive workplace across many locations. 

  • Experience of managing complex matrixed organizational structures and demonstrated capability in collaborating and influencing across such an organization. 

  • Demonstrated high degree of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to establish credibility. 

  • High sense of urgency and commitment to execution. 

  • Previous experience of Agile or Scaled Agile methodology, design thinking, and lean rituals will be an advantage but not essential. 

  • Proven adaptability, comfortable with change and with a demonstrated ability to react and response to a fast-changing environment. 

  • Self-starter, strong leadership, listening, communication and influencing skills with ability to transfer knowledge efficiently. 

  • Ability to collaborate and work across a global team. 

  • Significant travel to / within US/ Ireland / APAC / other locations, as required.
