We are seeking a Senior Electronic Engineer on a permanent basis to join our team.

 

Job Purpose:

 

Reporting to the Manager of R&D, this person will be responsible for supporting electrical design and development engineering work. This role involves working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure product designs meet the highest quality and regulatory standard.


 
Key Responsibilities:

 

•    Provide project support and executes activities to ensure the safety, quality, and compliance for the design of launches products while continuously improving their commercial value through end of life
•    Lead Electrical Design Change Assessments for Capital Equipment, Implantable Devices including battery and wafer, and External Stimulators.
•    Driving design changes if needed which includes revising schematics, drawings, BOM (Build of Materials) and other design outputs as needed
•    Driving Electrical and System qualifications, develop test methods, conduct test method validations, prepare and reviewing engineering documents not limited to design change analysis, technical reports, design history files and regulatory submission.
•    Present project updates and technical insights to stakeholders.
•    Conduct with Basis Safety and EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) testing, protocol development and report writing
•    Leverage internal/external partners as necessary to achieve project objectives
•    Work cooperatively with Process Development, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing on complex projects to ensure project success
•    Solve engineering problems by analyzing the situation and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
•    Ability to drive the final decision to functional teams and upper management on resolving design and manufacturing issues.
•    In all actions, demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to all documented quality processes and procedures
•    Interface with contract manufacturer to resolve design and manufacturing issue.
•    Supports design related CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) projects and VIP (Value Improvement Practices) projects as well as EOL (End of Life) projects.

 

Education & Experience (Required): 

 

•    BS degree in Electronic Engineering or related field
•    5+ years of relevant R&D experience
•    Proficient with electrical engineering design and principles.
•    Proficiency with lab equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum/signal/logic analyzers
•    Proficient with design and manufacture of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and Printed Circuit Assemblies.
•    Experience with Sustaining Electronic Products through design changes and qualification
•    Experience with assessing the product and system performance between different hardware/devices of the overall system due to design change.

 


Education & Experience (Preferred): 

 

•    Experience with microcontrollers and embedded systems
•    Experience with designing test equipment, mainly automated test equipment (ATE), including overall system design, digital and analog circuit design and instrumentation specification, test software programming.
•    Be a “self-starter” and willing to reach out to cross-functional team members to facilitate design changes
•    3+ years of medical device experience
•    Motivated, self-directed and able to work effectively both independently and in a team.
