About the role:
Magellan is a global business transformation program accompanying a move of our ERP system from ECC to S4 HANA. Magellan’s goal is to simplify, standardize and modernize our core business processes, enabling BSC to better leverage the power of data and to position our business for profitable and sustainable growth.
As the Program Manager, Magellan Delivery Excellence, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful Delivery of this Business Transformation project across all functions, divisions, and regions of the Company. This is a critical and strategic role, reporting to the Director of Delivery Excellence - Magellan. Collaborating with and across Magellan Towers, Tower Leads, Process Owners, Community of Practices and Stakeholders across the network is a critical success factor for this position. The Program will last for approximately 6 years and the role will entail planning and execution of activities in the following phases: Project Scope/Mobilization, Requirements, Design, Build and Testing, Deployment to post Go Live sustaining.
This role will be key to executing and delivering multiple deployments across global Commercial regions and Manufacturing locations, ensuring the related global functions that need to be involved in this and future releases are proactively informed and involved.
You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for developing the processes to support the execution of this critical transformation project. We are seeking a change leader who is motivated to continuously optimize our delivery methodology, leveraging agile and lean design thinking and project management best practices.
Your responsibilities include:
- Take shared responsibility and accountability for the successful planning and execution of the global program as part of the Delivery Excellence team to develop processes and tools to ensure predictable execution.
- Program Governance – shared responsibility for effective governance across the program which may include:
- Support Steering Committee agenda and material preparation for assigned End to End Tower.
- Support functional reporting and risk management activities through RAID.
- Represent team performance in Execution and Deployment Governance meetings.
- Schedule Creation and Management, including resource capacity planning within assigned teams.
- Value Realization – identify transformational opportunities to be delivered by the program for tracking via BSC VIP
- Program and Team Risk Management – identify potential project risks and define appropriate actions to mitigate, escalating to program leadership where appropriate.
- Program / Team Metrics – support program oversight of individual team performance and drive a culture of accountability across the program.
- Special projects – lead surge projects in key areas of risk or performance issues, drive process improvements as an outcome of lessons learned, and other key project management needs.
What we are looking for:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Hons degree in Quality, Engineering, Science or applicable field required; Advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years technical professional or operational experience in medical device field required.
- 5+ years of PMO experience.
- Previous leadership experience across the BSC network or the management of large change programs, ideally technology or systems environment.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and the broader Application Ecosystem, combined with knowledge of key business processes.
- Courage to make decisions for the best interest of global BSC even if it means reasonable compromise for a local team.
- Proven adaptability, comfortable with change and with a demonstrated ability to react and respond to a fast-changing environment. Demonstrates effective change leadership.
