Magellan is a global business transformation program accompanying a move of our ERP system from ECC to S4 HANA. Magellan’s goal is to simplify, standardise and modernise our core business processes, enabling BSC to better leverage the power of data and to position our business for profitable and sustainable growth.

 

Reporting to the Site S4 HANA Lead, the Site Business Process Lead will act as the primary Functional Point of Contact and Subject Matter Expert for the Magellan Program for the Site for the duration of the project. The Site BPL will co-ordinate with Global Process Owners, Communities Of Practices, the Magellan Core Teams and Site Stakeholders. The role will also require collaboration across the Network with other BPLs/SMEs to ensure Best Practice.

 

The Site Master Data/SAP BPL will represent the Global Magellan Program strategy and implementation roadmap: Global Template preparation, Global Template Build, communicating, and influencing to ensure Site and Global requirements are both met. Initially the role will be to champion Business Process Transformation, Harmonisation and Standardisation, identifying any Localisation, facilitating enabling incorporating into Global Template scope and working to minimise but ensure Site specific local requirements are met. This will include Interim scope and any workarounds required to support Operations during the Deployment window. The role will progress to support the Design, Test and Build cycles of Global Template Build, through to representing the Site for Release and Deployment activity: Business User Testing, Master Data Governance and Migration, Dry Run Business Simulation, Business Continuity Planning, Go Live and Stabilisation support.  As the Master Data Analyst, Magellan Data Governance transformation you will play a key role in ensuring the successful Business Transformation across the BSC Master Data workstream (materials, Vendor, Product & Finance). This role will operate in a Scaled Agile ERP Framework.

 

The role is planned to start in March 2021, with Release #1 and #2 concluding in 2023, with potential for some roles to participate in further Releases.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a core understanding of the Magellan Program and the Site implications, Pain Points, Opportunities, Custom transactions and Focus Areas.
  • Prioritising Harmonization, Standardisation and Best practice adoption for Global Template adoption.
  • The role will require a deep understanding of the Site Business Processes and key Stakeholders, scanning for long leadtime, complex embedded processes, Non-SAP Applications and Software with integration requirements.
  • Actively participate and ensure the right level engagement in Magellan Forums,  relaying back to site to own teams and also to site readiness team to collate benefits and identify gaps for review of impact and support required.
  •  
  • Building a cross functional, network-wide, team and collaborative matrix organisation, to deliver the Magellan Master Data (Customer, Vendor, Product and Finance) Transformation. 
  • Effectively communicate and influence across the region and country leadership levels and the global Magellan program.
  • Lead change for the Site, with support from global program leadership and regional/country leadership.
  • Expertise on key Operations systems and/or leverage with other SMEs.
  • ‘Train The Trainer’ level SAP knowledge to enable engaging with the Magellan GT Build, actively participating as the Site Lead for Design, Build, Test and Demo.   
  • Documentation and training, identifying procedures requiring updates, updating procedures, partnering with OCE to develop training aids, co-ordinate with the Validation team to support CN’s and Procedure Updates.
  • Liaise with the Training team and Site Super Users/BPLs/SMEs to develop training plans for each of the key Applications to enhance the knowledge base across the Master Data workstream (materials, Vendor, Product and Finance).
  • The role represents the Site Business User requirements with Magellan Team, working closely with Stakeholders to translate User Requirements into Business User Stories and the ‘Who, What, Why’ Acceptance Criteria.
  • Coordinating and liaison with Magellan Workstream Scrums, BSC GPO’s, BPL’s, SME’s, Communities of Practice’s, IT Solution Architects/COE and Stakeholders across the network to develop a strong and deep pool of expertise across the Site Manufacturing processes and Applications.
  • Liaise with the Training team and Site Super Users/BPLs/SMEs to develop training plans for each of the key Applications to enhance the knowledge base across the Manufacturing network.
  • Creating an environment that encourages constructive feedback and coaching and proactive developmental support for all employees.
  • Fostering an inclusive workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational and personal objectives.
  • Working within the Data Governance framework to ensure accurate and consistent data maintenance across BSC. 
  • Using metrics and analysis to hold Data Stewards accountable for their Data Quality
  • Participate in meetings with, influence and guide Data Steward SME’s on best practice and CI methodologies

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven track record of expertise and delivery in SAP and other key Operations systems, e.g. MES, PLM, Rapid Response.
  • 5+ years’ professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering, Science or applicable field required; Advanced degree preferred.
  • 3+ years Project Management/Systems experience in medical device field required.
  • Previous leadership experience on a Site or Network or the Management of large change programs
  • Ability to shape, establish, communicate and engage teams in the vision & strategy of the Magellan Program.

  • Experience of managing complex matrixed organizational structures and demonstrated capability in collaborating and influencing across such an organization

  • High sense of urgency and commitment to execution.
  • Previous experience of Agile or Scaled Agile methodology, design thinking, and lean rituals will be an advantage but not essential
  • Proven adaptability, comfortable with change and with a demonstrated ability to react and response to a fast-changing environment
  • Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills
  • Very well networked, known, credible and respected within the Site.
  • Ability to collaborate and work across a global team.
