Purpose:

Responsible for the implementation of business improvement in the functional areas and across the site through the deployment of Lean Principles, Systems and Tools. The employee will be required to have strong relationships with team members internal and external, effective communication and influencing skills. Be involved and influencing strategic projects for the site. Be recognised as a technical expert in their field.

 

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Influencing and lead part of the Operational Excellence Strategy, involved in collecting Voice of the customer, stake holder analysis, building business cases, developing 3 - 5-year roadmap and successful project selection and execution.
  • Actively deploys and coaches the organization people and management teams on the Principles, System and Tools of Operational Excellence
  • Functional and production experience relevant for application of lean methodology, waste identification and removal
  • Proven track record of leading complex Problem Solving & Process Improvement Road Maps at functional and site level to support the delivery of Key Performance Indicators.
  • Proven track record of leading End to End Value Stream Maps (VSM) – demonstrated use of VSM, largescale network VSM, identifying resource wheel, working virtually with global teams/ global collaboration, providing VSM training and skillset,
  • Leading large cross site improvement projects that focus on overhead expenses, labour, cost, and material improvements.
  • Influencing and leading site strategic space through creating multiyear strategy, designing space initiatives, influencing with senior site leadership team and driving change.
  • Facilitates kaizen events to drive improvements in critical processes and systems.
  • Experienced in change management and leading others through change.
  • Creates a sense of energy, excitement, and personal commitment to the organization by empowering others, rewarding, and celebrating superior performance, and creating an inclusive workplace.
  • Partners with the global network of Operational Excellence teams to share best practices, developing new training material, sharing and leverage successful projects.
  • Openly shares knowledge and expertise.  Listens actively and contributes to the open expression of ideas and opinions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate and delivery results through people management skills.
  • Resilient in the face of setbacks and challenges and has an ability to bring a fresh perspective and breakthrough ideas and find work arounds to unexpected problems.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Degree or Masters in relevant Business, Engineering or Science discipline with 5 years or more relevant experience.
  • Black Belt in Lean/Six Sigma (preferred, not mandatory).
  • Extensive knowledge and application of Lean/IE tools and methods
  • Leadership and Influencing skills.
  • Change Management skills.
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Cross functional team working.
  • Creativity and innovation.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
