Purpose Statement:
This role is an exciting opportunity to join the Clonmel Boston Scientific Supplier Quality Team supporting two product line transfers in the Urology and Endoscopy divisions
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Support product line transfer activity from BSC sister site, focusing on transferring material part number and incoming inspection document setup.
- Working in a category team environment to identify opportunities to set up incoming inspections at source at the suppliers.
- Working with manufacturing engineering team to set up inspection process and equipment to support incoming inspection activity.
- Generates and maintains incoming inspection procedures. Trains inspectors to these procedures.
- Assists in generating materials specifications and working with the supplier engineering function in qualifying new material.
- Onboarding of new suppliers through as a lead auditor in the quality management assessment.
- Analyses incoming material defects. Dispositions and drives corrective action as necessary. Communicates issues to suppliers.
- Managing equipment and inspection tools through preventative maintenance and calibration activity
- Investigates field failures related to supplier materials. Develop corrective action plan where necessary.
Education & Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in Manufacturing or Quality with a Level 8 qualification in Engineering or related technical/Quality discipline.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify and work with cross functional organizations to solve problems
- Strong command of MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to rapidly learn and use new applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience Supplier Quality, Quality, or Manufacturing background.
- Experience in the medical device industry
- Experience in working with or knowledge of manufacturing technologies associated with Plastics/Metal//Extrusion or packaging type components/suppliers
- Working knowledge and understanding of FDA, ISO13485, and the medical device industry quality requirements associated with manufacturing and supplier controls
- Lead auditor certification ISO 13485 or previous auditing experience.
- Experience in problem solving and process improvement methodologies
- Process Validation, Risk Management, CAPA experience.
