About this role:
The Sr. Facilities Engineer is responsible for providing leadership and expertise on facilities-related issues interfacing between internal work groups, consultants, and contractors.  The incumbent will identify and lead facility, value improvement, workflow, effective use of site facility assets, and waste elimination projects related to new and current manufacturing equipment regards to design, installation, troubleshooting and performance.


In the role you will:

  • Provide on-going support for manufacturing-related sterilization operations including process improvements, troubleshooting and maintenance practices of sterilization equipment and infrastructure, and resolution of non-conformances.
  • Be the “hands-on” technical expert for the sterilization equipment and building infrastructure; provide technical leadership on all facilities-related issues
  • Support the development, review and approval of sterilization process equipment and validation activities
  • Lead facility layout and design projects for the Coventry site to include site-wide planning, design layout, production, and operations design layout
  • Provide technical and costing expertise to customers to financially justify proposed projects
  • Understand and proactively execute Environmental Management Procedures as relevant to site location
  • Guide and direct architects, consultants, and construction trades to convert designs into physical change
  • Coordinate and lead complex engineering tasks, which may include creating and updating standards, drawings, and creating and approving change requests
  • Promote cross-functional and inter-site teamwork to accomplish shared objectives
  • Devise, implement and manage standard business processes for space, construction, drawing and furniture management; identify opportunities to procure and improve where necessary
  • Supervise, coach, and provide guidance to members of the Facilities team(s) as necessary


What we are looking for in you:

Required Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, or equivalent) with 5+ years of experience or 
    • Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Facilities Management (FMP / CFM) or
    • 10-15yrs of facilities management experience in lieu of degree or certification
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, MS Project etc.) 
  • Must have preventative maintenance experience 
  • Working knowledge of the utility plant: vacuum, nitrogen, chilled water, boiler, humidifiers, air handling units, hot water feeds and blowers
  • Must be organized and results-oriented; ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing tasks
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external teams; leadership skills are essential
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals on all levels 
  • Customer service-oriented and ability to build and maintain relationships with outside vendors and subcontractors
  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to take an analytical approach to problem-solving; critical thinking are skills essential
  • Ability to respond and manage critical situations in a timely manner, including after hours when necessary


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in installing, operating, and maintaining Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems (HVAC) 
  • Working knowledge of air pollution control and sterilization equipment experience 
  • Medical device manufacturing experience 
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
