About the role:
Our Boston Scientific site in Coventry is hiring for a Manager of Sterilization Production, processes, and associated staff.  Devotes time to managerial, leadership and staff development responsibilities.  Supports/drives lean, LBP & VIP initiatives in area of responsibility.  Supports/drives lean, LBP & VIP initiatives in area of responsibility. Supports the BSC code of conduct.

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Perform or direct the training of sterilization operators.  Motivate individuals to achieve results and recruit and maintain a high quality staff.
  • Enforce compliance to quality systems and partner with Quality function.
  • Manage the production schedule for the sterilization chambers.  Proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Manage staff, providing strong direction, supervision and development.
  • Establish and drive departmental goals in order to achieve plant/department cost and budget objectives.
  • Manages the Operational Excellence strategy and execution in the operations
  • Partner with cross-functional groups (i.e. engineering, new sterilizer or product flow process development teams, equipment engineering and quality) in order to achieve plant and departmental objectives.
  • Create / revise company/departmental policies and procedures as required.
  • Support, promote & drive involvement, direction and accountability on key business initiatives (i.e. Lean, LBP, Six Sigma, Shared Leadership, Employee Involvement, Employee engagement, etc.).
  • Promote, monitor and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Establish, prioritize and ensure accountability to projects in improving department or plant performance (i.e. VIP, STAR, Lean, LBP).   
  • Work with corporate EH&S personnel to ensure a safe, compliant work environment.
  • Ensure production support of engineering, facilities, maintenance and new process initiatives.
  • Has authority to stop production as necessary for safety or quality compliance.
  • May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals.  Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization.
  • Foster a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).

 

What we’re looking for in you:
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with a minimum of 5+ years of production management experience
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills managing a large, diverse team
  • Ability to direct and control budget activities
  • Thorough understanding of Operational Excellence and Lean Manufacturing
  • Places the customer at the center of business decisions, identifies current and future needs to exceed their expectation

  • Project Management experience
  • Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 plus years of Production Management experience
