Production Supervisor, Night Shift

 

About the Role:


The Production Supervisor (Night Shift) will manage production area by ensuring quality standards are adhered to including a safe work environment; by planning and prioritizing the daily work schedules to maintain production schedules, and by meeting plant and business objectives such as yield and efficiency at our Coventry site. This role is responsible for the sterilization of quality medical devices. 

You will supervise the activities, manpower and resources to ensure support is provided to meet the department and company goals. Responds to complaints on equipment, creates work orders, plans and implements projects and procures needed equipment, supplies and etc. Coordinates with engineers to facilitate research, development and/or product and process improvements and enhancements to support business needs. Implements policies and procedures to maintain production compliance.


The hours for this role are flexible, but will be an 8 hour shift between 7pm-7am

 

Your Responsibilities Include:


⦁    Implements a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the            selection process with Human Resources.
⦁    Develops direct reports by securing appropriate training, assigning progressively challenging tasks, applying progressive disciplinary action as appropriate and                    conducting formal written and verbal performance reviews.
⦁    Drive Innovation and change by communicating on key business initiatives and promoting employee engagement.
⦁    Supervise, lead and coach a group of operators and material handlers while spending time on the production floor, including performance review and labor                        resource.  Execute cross-training and personal development strategies for direct reports.
⦁    Meet quality objectives by ensuring compliance to quality systems and partner with Quality function as necessary.
⦁    Develop and achieve production plans, proactively identify and resolve issues.
⦁    Develop and communicate departmental goals to achieve effective core 5 metric performance.
⦁    Investigate root cause(s) of non-conformances (i.e. NCMR, audit, etc.), identify and execute corrective actions by expected completion date(s).
⦁    Work closely with cross-functional groups to develop continuous improvement plans (i.e. engineering, calibration, maintenance and quality) in order to achieve plant          and departmental objectives.
⦁    Will require the ability to review and schedule production.
⦁    Will supervise or coach direct labor operators and material handlers.  Trains and/or provides work direction to manufacturing personnel.
⦁    Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System and appropriate regulations for the area              they support. 
⦁    Ensure employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented.
⦁    Will require the ability to operate sterilization equipment.
 
 
What We're Looking For:


Minimum Qualifications:


⦁    High School Diploma or GED
⦁    5 years experience
⦁    1 year Supervisory Experience
⦁    MHE/Warehouse/Inventory Management experience
⦁    Continuous Improvement experience
⦁    Effective listening and communication skills, with capability to vary and combine leadership/communication styles based on needs of audience.
⦁    Ability/capability to effectively present/communicate to larger groups clearly and professionally.
 
Preferred Qualifications:


⦁    Bachelor’s Degree
⦁    Experience with EO Sterilization facilities
⦁    Logistics Experience
⦁    Analytics/excel experience
⦁    Experience in Med Device field
⦁    Effective listening and communication skills, with capability to vary and combine leadership/communication styles based on needs of audience.
⦁    Ability/capability to effectively present/communicate to larger groups clearly and professionally.
