About the Role:

 

Production Director provides leadership, technical and strategic guidance to production areas. Strong operational focus, leading and driving the organization to continuous improvements in overall performance based on established benchmarks, both within and external to BSC.  Cultivates partnerships that ensures the operation leads the way in terms of Operational Excellence culture.  At Boston Scientific Coyol, the Production Director is part of a two-engine model to support the complexity and scale of the site.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee the systems and processes to effectively program, plan and supervise the production requirements, making an efficient use of the equipment and materials. 
  • Develop and oversee the strategy to define and ensure implementation of projects of cost reduction in materials, processes, standards, among others. Support and/or lead transfer of processes, equipment, and products.
  • Define the objectives, policies and production goals maintaining good relations with all employees. As a leader of leaders, directs a team of managers who coordinate the supervisors along with the programming of production and fulfillment of the proposed goals for the year.
  • Partner on the definition of strategies and the implementation of employee engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Partner on the definition of strategies and the implementation of all the initiatives of EH&S.
  • Champions patient safety and product quality as a top priority.
  • Define and Execute strategy on ROI of Labor
  • Foster development of new process technology to ensure that production processes are on the cutting edge, in alignment to the plant and network strategies.
  • Educate, promote, and model Operational Excellence mindset and practices.
  • Drive the organization toward maximum efficiency in production operation.
  • Drive Training Operations strategy.
  • Determine current and future skill needs of the Production team, based on business needs and business strategy.  Partner with appropriate teams to ensure hiring and development in alignment with those skill needs.
  • Excellent communication and influence with all levels.  Drives collaboration with internal and external stakeholders of multiple functions, sites, and divisions.
  • Apply business expertise to anticipate and react to industry developments and identify opportunities for BSC growth.
  • Directs the resolution of highly complex operational problems looking beyond existing methodologies.

  

What We’re Looking For:

 

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licenciature in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or field related
  • Plus 10 years of experience leading a team/organization of more than 400 team members.
  • Strong Functional knowledge in Production and associated areas such as Industrial Eng, EHS and Training.
  • Great skills to develop teams including culture for a new team.
  • Strong Influencing and people development skills.
  • Experience in managing large-scale, complex operations/programs/projects
  • Excel in Collaborative Leadership
  • Experience in the Medical Device Industry
  • Capable of working in a twin engine model
  • English: above 95%

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Familiarity and experience with Quality systems and methods, products, and customer needs
  • Proven skills with Divisional Stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge on Products being transferred is preferred.
  • OPEX experience.
  • Other Functional knowledge is desired such as Financial acumen, Materials, EHS, Project management.
