About the Role: 

Responsible for leading a high-performing, customer-centric team, ensuring alignment with global processes, and maximizing operational efficiency. Monitor and supervise daily payment activities, adhere to company policies, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues. Oversee payment processes and workload distribution, prioritize tasks, and provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations to the team. Actively drive system and process improvements, lead audits for data accuracy and SOX compliance, while setting challenging yet attainable team goals to drive success within defined timelines.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:  

Lead a high performing, customer centric team within Global Business Services (GBS) providing one or more business services to Boston Scientific. Ensures consistency with global processes and maximizes operational efficiency

Monitor and supervise the daily activities related to the payments process.

Supervise Payments direct reports according to company policies and procedures.

Work with stakeholders, internal contacts, and suppliers in resolving open issues, backs up the Payments Manager as necessary.

Oversee month/weekly payment processes including system related tasks and reporting activities.

Ensure workload is properly distributed amongst the team; prioritize and adjust workload as necessary.

Interview and assist in the selection of Payments Representatives. 

Oversee training for new team members in company policies and procedures, and provide ongoing guidance, training and coaching to the team.

Review job performance of direct reports, discuss with manager, and conduct formal annual performance evaluation.

Actively encourage and participate in both system and process improvements for process optimization.

Participate in projects and perform other duties as required by management.

Lead monthly audits of Payment transactions across all applicable systems to ensure data accuracy and SOX compliance.

Develop monthly team goals that are challenging, measurable and attainable within certain timeframe.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of related experience, specifically in an Accounts Payable / Payments environment.
  • Leadership skills and ability to work efficiently in a high volume, fast paced, environment.
  • Presentation and public speaking skills
  • Ability to communicate and engage well with internal and external customers.
  • Decision making, analysis and problem-solving skills with ability to multi-task
  • Ability to plan and coordinate successful projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
  • SAP/ARIBA experience.
  • Strong level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook).
  • English Level desired C1+ (85%).
  • Additional languages knowledge is a plus. (Portuguese – French – German).
  • Ability to work as a team player and guiding the processes to new opportunities for improvement through the implementation of methodologies such as Kaizen or six sigma.
  • Comfortable with frequent change and ambiguity in a matrix organization.
  • Competence to develop an environment that fosters teamwork, positive energy, and efficiency according company principles.
  • Experience defining KPIs and operational metrics.
  • Understanding of international payment rules and regulations
