About the role

Provide day-to-day management of Supplier Development personnel which results in the implementation and execution of functional objectives, vision and mission.  Drive the development of new component sources for product development with clear specifications and appropriate component evaluation.  Direct the qualification of new components for Boston Scientific use.  Drive the resolution of component/supplier related issues and manage the component/material inspection and stores functions.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Implements a staffing plan by identifying resource requirements, writing justifications for additional personnel, obtaining approval for changes, and coordinating the selection process with Human Resources
  • Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
  • Provides direction and guidance to exempt engineers/specialists and/or supervisory staff who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments.  May supervise non-exempt employees.
  • Keeps the organization's vision and values at the forefront of decision making and action.
  • Demonstrates effective change leadership.
  • Builds strategic partnerships to further departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Develops and executes organizational and operational policies that affect one or more groups by utilizing technical/professional knowledge and skills.
  • Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.).
  • Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives.
  • Develops, monitors and appropriately adjusts the annual budget for department(s).
  • Identifies, develops and implements processes to improve department performance.
  • Monitors departments activities and records to ensure compliance independent action through critical decision making.
  • Provides manufacturing support by defining work assignments directed to address supplier defects, minimize quality, compliance, service and cost impact and implement process improvements utilizing Quality System and business tools.
  • Escalates issues to Category teams for resolution and guidance and promotes / coordinate appropriate functional support and prioritization to address business needs.

In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

For those individuals that supervise others, the following statements are applicable:Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.

  • Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering Discipline
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Medical Device Quality, preferably Supplier Quality
  • English level desire B2+ 80% or above.
  • Ability to assess and consolidate information to prepare clear, concise reports to more Senior Management
  • Experience building relationships with external vendors
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Energetic and positive attitude/vision with the ability to motivate others and create a positive work environment
  • Proven experience inspiring and leading others
  • Embody the values and Behaviors of BSC
  • Ability to support up to 15% travel
