The purpose of the Healthcare Solutions & Partnerships (HS&P) team is to help establish Boston Scientific as a leading healthcare Solutions provider. This is achieved by engaging in long-term partnerships with customers, providing them with products, services and solutions (consulting, digital health, risk share / value based healthcare models etc) which are differentiated and tailored to their needs.

Reporting to the HS&P Cluster Solutions Manager, the core objectives of this role are to architect the best possible solution to fulfil the customer’s needs, in the context of large strategic commercial deals and partnerships with key BSC customers. The Solutions Architect aggregates components, collaborating with the EMEA HS&P organisation, all product divisions within Boston Scientific, support functions and external partners, to create an offering that will deliver the customer’s expected outcomes as part of a partnership contract.

Once the company is awarded the business, the Solutions Architect will oversee project managing the contract from a commercial perspective, ensuring that the Solution we designed delivers against the hospital customer’s and Boston Scientific’s expectations.

 

About the role

The role will be part of the HS&P Central Cluster (Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands) organisation, and work with the Cluster team in pre-sales and post-sales phases of partnership projects, more specifically with the Cluster Solutions Manager in pre-sales and with the Solutions Delivery Consultants and Digital Experts in Post-Sales. The role will also work closely with the local German divisional sales teams in creating opportunities and bringing them to successful partnership contracts.

As part of the pre-sales phase, the Solutions Architect will own the Solution’s content that is intended to be proposed to a client and own the contracting process; in the context of his/her post-sales mission, the Solutions Architect will establish and drive the project plan, drive the resource allocation based on the initial work effort estimate, and then drive project implementation of Solutions to realise improved productivity, quality and patient experience at the client sites.

This role will focus fully on the German market.

 

Your Key Responsibilities are:

  • Core member of select Healthcare Partnership customer account teams in Germany
  • Participate in the commercial process for potential engagement opportunities as a Solutions expert; Support the divisional sales teams in shaping opportunities and lead in solutions selling and shaping through client facing activities
  • Integrate all engagement components that are required to obtain the best possible solution for fulfilling the client’s expectations and desired outcomes, including digital health and advisory solutions.
  • Establish a project charter and plan for each engagement component with clearly stated and agreed upon goals & objectives. Determine the appropriate project teams, including customer, 3rd party and Boston Scientific personnel.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Solutions Delivery Team to define, plan and execute implementation of projects and service programs for Healthcare Solutions customers. Drive the resource allocation of Solutions Delivery Consultants, in cooperation with the HS&P Cluster Solutions Manager
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, internally and externally, to ensure the project proceeds according to the plan. Making adjustments to the plan as necessary, aligned with the project's goals & objectives, ensuring that the end result meets the expectations of the Customer and Boston Scientific.
  • Manage project delivery at multiple customer locations in collaboration with internal resources and external vendors.
  • Work with BSC EMEA Solutions Development team, to share learnings, best practices and market insights
  • Track and report on key metrics to Cluster Solutions Manager and Cluster Busines Unit Director, aligned with overall goals & objectives. Ensure that gains and savings are accurately tracked for both the customer and Boston Scientific.
  • Work collaboratively and build relationships with colleagues within team and with contacts across product divisions, functions and geographies; is an active ambassador of Solutions and the cross-divisional approach in Germany

 

Who are we looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in Healthcare and ideally in Solutions Architecture (Background in System Integration, Complex Project Management, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years’ total combined experience within a Management Consultancy firm / Medtech company / Hospital environment
  • Is completely familiar and comfortable with outcomes selling and preferably has a background in delivery of digital health solutions and/or advisory projects
  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and analytical skills to resolve complex issues in creative ways.
  • Is a real team player, knows how to organise talents around him/ her
  • Proven ability to work and influence across a matrix environment. Strong communicator internally and externally, builds networks, and partners with peers.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Clear thinker, strong problem-solving skills, comfortable in challenging existing practices and the status quo.
  • Rigorous, strong execution mind-set, structured and organized
  • Change oriented, able to operate in an area of uncertainty and with changing/limited resources.
  • Proven experience of successfully working within cross border or virtual teams.
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree or MSc (preferred) in a business, technical or clinical subject
  • Fluent German speaker.
  • Good level of written and spoken English.
  • Home-office based role, allowing for flexible home location across Germany
  • Willing and able to travel frequently within Germany and occasionally other countries in the Cluster.
