Senior Manager, HR Transformation APAC (2 Years Project)

This role will be based in China for 2 years project. Please note that Boston Scientific does not offer relocation support for this position. Applicants should be based in, or have valid work authorization for this location.
Purpose Statement:
The Senior Manager, HR Transformation based in China plays a critical role in enabling the successful delivery of the APAC HR Transformation initiative project. This role drives alignment, leads project delivery, leads change management, and owns evidence of success. It serves as the geography point of contact and change champion, independently leads complex organization design and process harmonization initiatives, and acts as an HR subject matter expert providing trusted guidance and counsel to the team. Working in close partnership with diverse stakeholders in cross‑functional transformation teams, this role ensures local market insight, operational feasibility, stakeholder alignment, and consistent adoption of the future state HR operating model across APAC.
Responsibilities
1) Geography Point-of-Contact & Change Champion
- Leads the implementation of transformation initiatives in complex environments, facilitating alignment across geographies through engagement with a broad range of senior stakeholders, while providing expert guidance and coaching to support junior team members.
- Independently develop and deliver strategic recommendations informed by complex market conditions, synthesizing insights to clearly articulate outcomes to senior stakeholders
- Lead alignment and resolve competing priorities among senior HR leaders on assigned geography/enterprise‑level organization design and process transformation decisions.
- Act as the primary transformation representative for the assigned geography, contributing local market insights, regulatory considerations, and operational implications.
- Partner with the Senior Program Manager to co-lead and champion geography change management by role‑modeling resilience, accountability, and adaptability, while providing coaching and hands‑on collaboration with geography teams to implement change effectively, embed new ways of working, and deliver change management deliverables.
2) Lead Process Harmonization and Simplification
- Independently lead one HR process harmonization and simplification area with end-to-end accountability for strategic direction, design standards, governance, and sustained outcome.
- Exerts senior-level strategic influence across a broad range of cross geography stakeholders to secure alignment and drive sustained adoption of harmonized and simplified processes.
3) Lead Organization Design
- Independently lead one HR organization design work area, with end‑to‑end accountability for the assigned area, setting clear structures, role expectations, ways of working, and ensuring consistent adoption.
- Strategically engage and influence local HR stakeholders to drive alignment and successfully operationalize role changes, new service channels, new reporting structures, and strategic focus areas to deliver intended project outcomes.
4) HR Subject Matter Expert
- Act as the senior HR subject matter expert, delivering trusted, data‑driven guidance and strategic counsel to project team members, influencing critical decisions and ensuring alignment with HR strategy, governance standards, and business priorities.
5) Additional Responsibilities
- Responsible and/or accountable for any additional duties or areas of responsibility as assigned by the Director, HR Transformation.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in HR/Business/Organization Development.
- Certification(s) desirable: Project Management Professional (PMP), Change Management (Prosci), Lean Six Sigma, CIPD/SHRM.
- Minimum 12 - 15 years years of relevant HR experience in complex, multi-geography environment, with hands-on experience in organization design and process optimization projects.
- Demonstrated HR subject matter expertise, with the ability to apply sound judgment to advise on complex people, policy, and operating model issues and to guide decision making in a transformation or change environment.
- Demonstrated capability to provide guidance, coaching, and informal mentorship to project team members in HR related domains, supporting capability development and effective project delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgment to plan, prioritize, and deliver HR transformation initiatives in a complex, fast paced environment.
- Ability to strategically engage and facilitate alignment with senior stakeholders across multiple geographies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Change management experience is preferred for which 8+ years (e.g., communication, training, stakeholder alignment).
