About the role:
The Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for interfacing with customer to perform service-related activities (troubleshooting, warranty decisions, complaint handling, sales orders, RGA’s, event registration, candidate requests, etc.). You will be accountable for complying with all regulatory requirements with respect to complaint handling and maintaining the accuracy of the data within BSC business systems. You will be responsible for providing remote and onsite technical support to customers in predominantly hospitals, outpatient facilities and physician’s offices and must be passionate about making decisions that provides the best customer care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform service activities such as the maintenance, modification, calibration and repair of Boston Scientific Capital Equipment and accessories in the Field 
  • Provide troubleshooting and onsite diagnostics of BSC’s capital equipment across all divisions including hardware and software.
  • Document cases, recommendations, and resolutions clearly in the CRM system.
  • Handle technical inquiries from hospital personnel, including physicians and staff, field personnel, including service, sales, and training.
  • Travel to other states including Colorado, Montana and Wyoming 50-70% of the time.
  • Troubleshoot basic electronic computer systems using Microsoft based tools.
  • Prioritize and coordinate assigned service activity in a timely manner. 
  • Balance between technical skills and customer interfacing skills.
  • Coordinate and communicate with customer and Boston Scientific Representatives. 
  • Travel at a moment’s notice and for multiple days to customer locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma.
  • 1 year minimum field service equipment experience.
  • Excellent computer networking, equipment troubleshooting, administrative and communication skills.
  • Familiar with common electronic test equipment including Digital Multi-Meters and safety analyzers.
  • Have a reliable vehicle and meet insurance requirements. 
  • Excellent administrative skills to manage service reports and travel expenses.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two-year college degree (AA) in Biomedical or Electronics.
  • Three years’ experience supporting Medical Equipment .
  • Prior Technical Field Service, Biomedical, or Military technical MOS.
  • Electrophysiology, Medical Imaging, or Cath Lab technical/Clinical experience.


Working Conditions:  

  • Work requires extensive travel, up to 5 nights per week, possibly for several weeks in a row – generally home on weekends.  
  • The position requires a significant amount of walking and occasional lifting of heavy items up to 75 lbs.  Predominantly, work is performed in hospitals where a safe environment is provided.
