About the role:  

As an Account Manager in Rhythm Management, you will drive sales growth while developing strong clinical expertise. This field-based role combines a primary focus on sales with a critical Field Clinical Specialist (FCS) component. 

You will complete a structured FCS training program (approximately one year) while actively managing accounts. After completion, you will continue to dedicate at least 20% of your time to clinical and technical support in the field. 

You will partner closely with physicians, hospital staff, and internal teams to deliver innovative cardiac solutions and build long-term customer relationships. 

This position will report to the Regional Sales Manager Cardiac Rhythm Management Belgium. The assigned territory will be Brussels and Hainaut. 

 

Work model, sponsorship, relocation: 

This is a field-based (remote) role requiring frequent travel within the assigned territory. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time. 

 

Your Account Management responsibilities will include: 

  • Develops and implements sales strategies by determining the relevant factors (e.g., product, competition and pricing needs) of existing and potential accounts to effectively promote the company's products to appropriate hospital personnel and physicians. 

  • Sells products by scheduling sales calls to meet with current and potential customers to fulfill revenue and unit growth objectives assigned by company on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis. 

  • Develops action plans (i.e., weekly, quarterly, monthly) by analyzing quarterly and monthly sales figures and reports identifying the needs of particular accounts and discussing issues with management to help the organization achieve its annual sales goals. 

  • Determines the needs (e.g., product and pricing), goals, product usage, and types of cases handled by specific customers by meeting with and asking in-depth questions of physicians and other hospital personnel to learn which BSC products can best address their specific needs. 

  • Observes actual procedures in the cardiac catheterization or electro-physiology lab and operating room of hospital accounts to gain insight into the specific nuances of each physician and each member of the lab staff. 

  • Establishes pricing packages by working with relevant BSC personnel to establish price points that address specific customer's needs while satisfying company guidelines and policies. 

  • Responds to customer needs and complaints regarding products and service by developing creative and feasible solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g. clinical research, pricing and/or marketing) to develop optimal solutions. 

  • Develops relationships with hospital personnel (e.g. through casual conversation, meetings, participation in conferences) to make new contacts in other departments within hospital and to identify key purchasing decision makers in order to facilitate future sales. 

  • Educates customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using a wide variety of formats and platforms (e.g., slides, manuals) to secure purchasing commitments, often with the help of incentive programs and services made available to the account being developed. 

 

Your Field Clinical Support responsibilities will include: 

  • Provide expert technical and clinical support in the cathlab and OR on the full CRM and CDx portfolio: Pacemakers, Defibrillators, Resynchronization Therapy, Implantable Loop Recorders 

  • Launching Boston Scientific’s newest technologies and optimizing use of existing technologies 

  • Act as the primary clinical/technical contact together with the other Field Clinical Specialists in your territory, offering on-site and remote support. 

  • Educating customers on optimal product and service use of Boston Scientific products 

  • Engaging customers from a clinical and technical perspective by having high level professional interactions 

  • Builds and maintains insight into competitor products in own area of expertise, advising customers appropriately 

 

Qualifications

Required qualifications: 

● Proven track record in Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices and/or in Electrophysiology 

● Minimum of 5 years' experience in medical device sales, clinical support, or healthcare 

● Degree in nursing, life sciences, biomedical engineering, bio engineering or a related medical field 

● Fluency in English and French, both written and spoken 

● Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills 

● Extensive travelling by car in Belgium and occasional international travel 

● Flexible in working hours and daily changes to the agenda 

● Valid driver’s license  

 

Preferred qualifications: 

● 5 years experience in electrophysiology and cardiac devices 

● Experience in cath lab, EP lab, or operating room environments 

● Knowledge of cardiac implantable electronic devices 

● Proven ability to grow accounts and manage customer relationships
