This position is responsible for:

  • supervising the performance and processes of the Pricing and Tender department in Belgium and Luxemburg
  • supporting the tender business and requirements by continuously developing the performance and processes of Tender management in Belgium.


The core objective of this role is to ensure pricing policies are being applied effectively, to ensure all tender opportunities are submitted in high quality level and to identify additional value add opportunities and competitive differentiation as well as to follow up and perform analyses of submitted tenders. This position will be able to actively promote Value Based Procurement and represent Boston Scientific direct to customers and create mutually acceptable partnerships and in turn builds strong networks within Boston Scientific.

Trilingualism: In-depth knowledge of Dutch - French and English

Key Responsibilities


  • Ensures correct sales deals and pricing information in SAP, an effective management of contract and tender administration in compliance with both company policies and local rules and legislation;
  • Monitors team performance against service indicators on an ongoing basis, initiating corrective actions, preparing reports, summaries, analysis and documentation on all aspects of department function. Escalate issues to Customer Service manager when appropriate;
  • Responsible for providing the daily supervision of the pricing and tender team member(s);
  • Performs all personnel management activities for pricing and tender staff, including recruitment, training, performance appraisal and professional development in collaboration with Customer Service Manager;




  • Develops all aspects of the tender process in Belgium and the Value Based Procurement strategy
  • Works closely with key stakeholders to ensure that all tender opportunities are submitted in a timely manner, professional level and according to legal requirements;
  • Developing first-class relationships within the organization; building a partnership approach with business leaders, sales teams in provision of tenders and quotations, making regular contact (including visits) with purchasing departments and non-clinical buyers in general.
  • Works closely with internal stakeholders in Finance, Supply Chain, Order to Cash and Field Inventory customer service teams, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Demand Planning and Legal departments;
  • Identifies and develops working relationships with the economic buyer in regions key accounts
  • Identify & recommend opportunities to increase customer satisfaction as well as overall efficiency and accuracy of the department, together with internal customers;
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills in front of the both internal and external customers
  • Effectively presents and communicates core strategies and performance in the wider business
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with local rules and legislations regarding public tenders;
  • Demonstrates awareness of broad industry trends and their impact on local/regional sales activities
  • Responsible for integrating new products or managing new acquisitions into the department processes and work instructions when applicable;
  • Represents the Pricing and Tender team in case of internal or external audits in close collaboration with the Customer Service Manager.

Accomplishes tasks mainly through direct supervision of support and entry level professional employees. Monitors progress toward departmental goals; monitors costs of projects and human and material resources within a department or unit. Receives task-oriented work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. Directs subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies.


Supervision Received

Works under general supervision. Receives limited supervision on standard issues, and detailed instructions on new assignments. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall quality, efficiency and accuracy.


Supervision Provided

Provides direction and guidance to predominantly support and entry level professional personnel; assigns tasks, checks work at frequent intervals and maintains schedules. Evaluates performance of and assists in career development planning for subordinates.


Job Complexity

Works on issues of limited scope. Follows established practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Monitors daily operations of a unit or sub-unit. Requires full knowledge of own area of functional responsibility.


Policy Involvement

Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees. Develops and/or identifies new work processes and the improved utilization of human and material resources within the assigned area or related departments.


Operations Involvement/Direct Work Involvement

Monitors daily operations of a unit and actively assists, or provides direction to, subordinates as required. Investigates and solves basic problems that impact work processes and personnel within a unit or department. May perform, especially in staff or professional groups, ongoing operational tasks of organizational units.


Project Involvement

May participate in department project teams.


Planning and Organization

Schedules human and material resources within a department or section in conjunction with near-term plans to ensure their availability; carries out operations within an established budget.



Assignments are expressed in the form of tasks; generally makes day-to-day decisions within established policies, procedures and guidelines in order to carry out the operations and processes selected at higher levels. Ensures that projects are completed on time following established procedures and schedules.  Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to achieve results might cause delays in program schedules and result in the allocation of more resources.

Promotes department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable staff. Leads the activities of assigned staff by communicating and providing guidance towards achieving department objectives.



Frequently interacts on internal basis with subordinates and supervisors at equivalent level or one level higher.  Communication  normally involves specific phases of a project or operation.  External contacts are infrequent and involve routine matters, such as the exchange or presentation of factual information.
