Purpose statement : 

Promote company products through education of current & potential customers and implant within a defined region by providing clinical education, sales strategy and support for complex issues in order to assist in achieving projected sales goals and increasing sales revenues within assigned product lines. Responsible for the day-to-day field execution and management of Boston Scientific clinical trials at selected clinical trial centers.

Key Responsibilities 

- Commercial Support: Without appreciable direction, serve as expert for clinical support consisting of tackling complex issues relating to troubleshooting, programming, and patient follow-up for company products.
- Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using appropriate formats and platforms (e.g., slides, manuals) to keep all customers abreast of the latest product, therapy, and technology developments and current items of interest in the industry.
- Perform clinical and library research and participate in case reviews and clinical observation by working with physicians and hospital lab staff.
- Attend unit implants in the labs and operation rooms of hospital accounts and perform patient follow-up to assure customer and patient success with the implanted products.
- Meet with existing and potential clients to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and to discuss and demonstrate how company products can help them to achieve their goals.
- Maintain business relationships with hospital personnel (e.g., through casual conversation, meetings, participation in conferences) to make new contacts in other departments within hospital and to identify key decision makers in order to facilitate future sales.
- Respond to all customer needs and complaints regarding products and service by developing optimal creative and feasible solutions.
- Lead specialized project teams & provide technical leadership to Business Unit Heads.Participate in the development of other team members by facilitating training and providing feedback and guidance (role model, best practice sharing, …).
- Clinical Trial Support:Managing and providing technical support for clinical trial activity within assigned territory by supporting the site authorization process and study procedures as defined in the clinical investigational plan.
- Providing initial and continuous training, education and support for clinical center personnel on clinical trial protocol, clinical process, products and features under investigation, and procedures involving those products and features.


Requirements : 
Knowledge 
A seasoned, experienced professional with wide-ranging experience and expertise in a specialized field. Applies comprehensive knowledge of a particular field to resolve complex issues in creative ways. Full knowledge of other related disciplines. Uses in-depth knowledge of business unit functions and cross group dependencies/relationships. Is recognized as an expert in the work group.

Analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Initiates or maintains schedule for projects and project milestones.

Works without appreciable direction. Works independently on highly specialized projects with long range objectives.  Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives of assignment. Selects methods and techniques to lead a project to completion. Develops departmental policies and procedures, new techniques and standards. Work is reviewed from a relatively long- term perspective, for desired results.

Business Relationships and Project Management 
Interfaces with senior management on significant matters, often requiring the coordination of activity across organizational units. May lead specialized project teams which have a broad impact on the company utilizing cross-functional resources.  Provides leadership to business units.

Impact 
Guides the successful completion of major programs and often functions in a project leadership role. Effects of decisions are long-lasting and influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgement or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources.

Liaison 
Serves as a consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, projects, or objectives. Uses diplomacy and tact to diffuse high tension situations, particularly with senior level internal and external contacts. Occasionally escalates the most serious issues to manager.

Mentoring 
Participates in the development of others by facilitating training and providing feedback and guidance.
