Your mission 

 

The Field Clinical Research Engineer role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work with the latest technology, for our pre and post-market trials in both CRM & EP, including leadless pacemaker technologies and pulsed-field ablation.

 

This role combines knowledge of clinical trial execution alongside technical CRM/EP expertise and the successful candidate will benefit from prior experience in the cardiac catheter laboratory. The role will require interaction with multiple stakeholders in order to proactively manage site performance and foster strong clinical research partnerships with the leading hospitals in Belgium, working as part of the EMEA-wide Field clinical engineering team.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for several research centres in Belgium, working closely with Key Opinion Leaders, local BSC colleagues including, sales/marketing, legal/compliance and regulatory.  

 

 Your daily work opportunities will include;

 

  • Educates clinical investigators on clinical trial protocols, clinical processes and investigational products and features.
  • Provides technical support for clinical trial procedures including implants and follow up visits.  This includes direct patient contact in the hospital or clinic setting.



Providing  clinical trial therapy expertise...

 

  • As technical support for clinical trial procedures including implant, ablation  and follow up visits.  This includes direct patient contact in the hospital or clinic setting.
    • To customers to ensure smooth trial start-up and trial enrolment according to plans
    • To Educate clinical investigators on clinical trial protocols, clinical processes and investigational products and features
    • To customers to ensure correct and timely resolution of queries
    • To BSC  country staff and local agencies

 

Managing  study start-up , enrolment and Follow Up activities

    • Trains on and maintains knowledge of clinical trial protocols, RM Clinical Department standard operating procedures, and compliance with regulations of world-wide regulatory bodies
    • Cross functional alignment in the contractual activities
    • Non-device related complaint handling
    • Coordination of communications and activities as needed between local and central groups for safety reporting
    • Ensuring device traceability in pre-market trials

 

Builds strong internal and external relationships in order to

 

  • Develop expert knowledge on CRM/EP  therapies and products
  • Liaises between global study teams, scientists, clinical executives and KOLs, meeting with existing and potential investigators to identify their clinical needs and research interests
  • Ensures study results and messages are communicated appropriately to participating investigators and local stakeholders
  • Attends the “study team” meetings as needed
  • Supports Field Actions from clinical perspective

 

What are we looking for in you?

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in science or a related field
  • Experience in CRM & EP will be a plus
  • 3+ years related work experience
  • Technical clinical expertise
  • Solid experience in medical device 
  • Ability to build strong local relationships
  • Speak English, french & Dutch
  • Willing to travel extensively (50%)
