Sr. Occupational Health & Safety – (1st shift)

 

Develops, implements, and ensures continuous improvement of the Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) ecosystem. As a part of a winning team, the primary purposes are 1) maintaining compliance with the requirements of Boston Scientific’s corporate EH&S policies and requirements and all applicable national, state, and local regulations, 2) driving EH&S performance improvements across the site, and 3) capturing and communicating information describing EH&S roles, responsibilities and contribution.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess compliance with applicable environment, health, and safety laws.
  • Gate keeper for ongoing health services such as rehabilitation, return-to-work issues, counseling and crisis intervention, assisting supervisors and employees with implementing return to work plans including modified scheduling and job accommodations.
  • Monitor wellness programs and assist and coordinate activities that promote wellness in workplace. 
  • Monitoring and evaluating the quality of services delivered by all healthcare providers and vendors.
  • Communicate information regarding injury prevention and health promotion by working with and through management to enhance employee wellness.
  • Establish and maintaining relationships with appropriate community agencies, e.g., local emergency response personnel, occupational health clinics, board of public health, etc.
  • Assist with the development of prevention and health promotion strategies to include serving on appropriate interdisciplinary committees
  • Facilitate claims processing while maintaining and safeguarding confidentiality of employee health information and records.
  • Conduct EH&S compliance audits, self-assessments, and inspections throughout the facilities.
  • Conduct and/or coordinate periodic industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental sampling/testing
  • Conduct ergonomic assessment and collaborate with area leaders to assure a comprehensive to ergonomics

 

Management Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Knowledge of occupational health issues
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • 5 years of experience in manufacturing industry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree related to occupational health
  • Knowledge in industrial hygiene 
  • knowledge in occupational risk prevention and implementation of safety measures.
  • Ability to perform risk assessments.
  • Ability to provide first aid and immediate medical attention in case of emergencies.
  • Good communication skills to educate employees on healthy habits and safety measures.
  • Ability to keep detailed records of work-related accidents and illnesses.
