Strategic Business Development Manager - GEM Region


Work Location : within countries in the Growth Emering Markets Region (GEM)



Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Business Development, the Senior Manager will be responsible for Business Development activities related to identifying, managing and maximizing the business impact of potential partnerships, programs, acquisitions, and mergers.  He/she will work with division leadership and divisional and corporate functions to identify and assess new opportunities, conduct due diligence, evaluate and negotiate potential deal structures and terms, and help manage ongoing relationships with partner companies.



  • Drive divisional business development activities, including understanding and supporting development of business strategy, identifying key external opportunities, leading due diligence processes, evaluating and recommending deals; supporting and/or leading negotiations.
  • Develop financial models assessing market potential, company valuation and risk-adjusted return on investment.
  • Work closely with divisional finance team to build valuation scenarios by providing business guidance and coordinating cross functional inputs into model.
  • Lead all aspects of potential acquisitions, divestitures and partnerships including; multiple analyses, market opportunities, cross functional due diligence, deal terms, development and execution of transaction strategy, management of deal teams including bankers, lawyers and stakeholders, and negotiation of key transaction terms and agreements.
  • Identifies and coordinates internal resources required for Business Development activities, including due diligence.
  • Manage multi-functional due diligence process and coordinate efforts of internal and external teams.
  • Lead the design and development of scalable partnership programs that allow BSC to increase its competitive advantage in core markets including Public Private Partnership initiatives.



  • May lead a group or team of employees in the achievement of organizational goals.  Guide, coach, direct, and develop direct reports, and if applicable, drive those practices throughout their organization.

  • May direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. federal/country and regulatory requirements).
