Medical Affairs Senior Manager, Watchman, EMEA
Travel. 50% mainly in Europe
Location. Hybrid, based in one of our European hubs’ cities (Dusseldorf, Milano, Madrid, Paris, London).
About the role:
The core objective of this role is to support, as the subject matter expert, the definition and implementation of the strategy for the Watchman left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) franchise within New Cardio Medical Affairs in EMEA.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain a deep understanding of the clinical science supporting the watchman technology & gather/develop data intelligence in our product space
- Monitor and synthesize key conference medical information and journal publications in the domain
- Create content & train internal organization in EMEA on new data releases and key trials in the field of LAAC
- Collaborate with EMEA marketing groups and Global Scientific Affairs to plan and develop high quality medical education at 3rd party congresses or Boston Scientific sponsored events (advisory boards, symposia, digital physician education)
- Support internal educational efforts as a therapy and scientific expert to the commercial organization, as well as medical and scientific affairs
- Act as liaison between commercial and scientific teams
- Evaluate external clinical research proposals and collaborate with Clinical department, HEMA and EMEA marketing groups to advise on how research proposals fit the overall clinical strategy.
- Manage Investigator sponsored research process including funding allocation and execution.
- Engage with identified HCPs and KOLs to exchange clinical information, to explore clinical areas of need and to discuss corporate initiatives. Specific areas of collaboration include:
- Identifying and helping physicians in delivering educational programs (e.g., symposia)
- Ensuring that the content and format of EMEA medical symposium/congress presentations are accurate and strategically focused
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and colleagues
- Ensure optimal dissemination of clinical study data to internal and external audiences (including EMEA symposia/congress presentations)
- Initiate and facilitate networks, communication and collaboration within EMEA and across other regions.
What are we looking for:
We are looking for a candidate with strong scientific acumen, excellent presentation and communication skills, and collaborative approach.
Required:
- Master degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering or equivalent
- Min of 7 years relative experience in medical device industry or 5 years with advanced degree (MD or PhD degree), preferably in medical affairs
- Fluency in understanding & interpretation of clinical data
- Excellent communication & presentation skills to all levels of organization
- Collaborative and collegial approach while thriving in a dynamic and fast pace environment
- Proficiency in English
Preferred (not essential):
- Technical or clinical knowledge in interventional cardiology or electrophysiology is a strong advantage
- MD or PhD degree in life sciences, biomedical engineering or equivalent
- Experience in developing educational programs and KOL management
- Previous Track record of building relationship with key opinion leaders in medical field
- Clinical research experience
- Previous experience in a Matrix organization
- Additional European or Middle Eastern Language
