About the Role:
The primary objective of this role is to support the Market Development Associate Director in achieving the strategic and commercial goals of the Sacral Neuromodulation (SNM) business within the Urology division for Alberta
In this field-based sales position, you will serve as the primary point of contact for Boston Scientific’s SNM product portfolio, engaging directly with patients, surgeons, clinical support staff, and hospital administration. Your main responsibilities will be to drive the adoption and utilization of new SNM Boston Scientific technologies, in addition, this role will provide clinical case coverage of existing Urology innovative technologies.
Your responsibilities will include:
Clinical Support & Training
- Attend clinical cases in hospital accounts and perform follow-up to ensure customer success with the implanted products.
- Serve as the primary resource for clinical support, addressing a wide range of issues related to troubleshooting, capital unit use and programming, and effective use of Boston Scientific SNM products.
- Able to provide technical training and support to customers directly in the operating rooms, as well as support the needs of hospital management, purchasing department and other hospital staff.
Patient Support
- Provide direct education and support to patients throughout the therapy journey, including pre-procedure counseling, expectations, and device overview.
- Assist clinicians in preparing patients for trial stimulation and permanent implantation.
- Support patients during trial periods by monitoring therapy progress, addressing questions or concerns, and coordinating adjustments with the clinical team.
- Conduct post-implant follow-ups, including device checks, reprogramming, and education on optimal use and care of the system.
- Serve as a liaison between the patient, clinical team, and hospital staff to ensure continuity of care and a positive patient experience.
Customer Education & Relationship Building
- Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using appropriate formats and platforms (e.g., slides, manuals) to keep all customers informed of the latest product, therapy, and technology developments.
- Meet with existing and potential clients to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care, and discuss and demonstrate how company products can help them achieve their goals.
- Develop business relationships with hospital personnel (e.g., through casual conversation, meetings, participation in conferences) to make new contacts in other departments within the hospital and identify key decision makers to facilitate future sales.
- Respond to complex customer needs and complaints regarding products and services by developing creative and feasible solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g., sales, clinical, research, marketing, technical support) to develop optimal solutions.
Sales Development & Territory Management
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the products and services provided by the division and how they can be effectively used in medical procedures. Visit customers and/or potential customers of Boston Scientific on a regular and planned basis to promote products and services to achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets, as agreed with your manager.
- Manage and utilize supply agreements and contracts with hospitals and purchasing groups in assigned territory.
- Plan daily and weekly visits to assigned hospitals to develop the market for our existing and new products through presentations, in-services, medical procedure support, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with a team of clinical specialists, territory sales representatives, and market development managers to achieve broader strategic goals.
Market Development & Corporate Representation
- Attend meetings, conferences and exhibitions as required to promote Boston Scientific products and services.
- Analyze and report to your manager and/or others regarding market changes, competitive activities, product performance and business feedback.
- To represent Boston Scientific values and integrity.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum achievement of a bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of successful sales experience in healthcare - preferably in selling to surgeons, physicians, and hospital administration.
- Demonstrated ability to absorb technical knowledge quickly and disseminate appropriately to all levels of healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrates solid business and financial skills and understanding.
- Continuous track record of working well within a team, and helping others achieve success.
- Valid Driver’s License with good driving record.
- This position requires travel primarily within the province of Alberta
- Able to travel for multiple days at a time away from home (minimum travel expectation is 30%)
- Candidates should also be comfortable with some evening and weekend work.
- Competent user of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, both PC and mobile.
- Displays a consistent and positive attitude.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).
