About the role:
This Account Manager position is a key commercial role within all hospital accounts in the Southern part of the Netherlands. The Account manager acts as liaison between Marketing, Clinical and Customer service to identify and meet customer needs while increasing market share across the full portfolio in the evolving field of Urology for Boston Scientific.
Your responsibilities include:
- Be accountable for Urology sales and customer satisfaction of the Boston Scientific
Core Urology & Prostate Health portfolio by managing the hospital accounts in the Southern part of the Dutch market daily. - Prospect and develop positive relationships with potential and existing healthcare professional customers and other stakeholders (Urologists, OR-Nurse specialists, department managers, biomedical engineers and purchasers) in the assigned accounts.
- Maintain open communication lines with current and prospective customers on programs, promotions and pricing trends.
- Establish, implement and monitor own account plans for the assigned Urology accounts based on BSC business objectives and customer needs. Contributes to the development of annual strategic plan by providing the RSM, NSM and Marketing with detailed business intelligence for accounts in scope (e.g. market size and potential, market / products trends, business opportunities, competitive landscape, updated clinical and economic stakeholders).
- Secure and/or renew existing orders by coordinating communication on product availability, delivery dates, clinical and technical support and inventory levels between customers and Boston scientific customer service.
- Conduct and participate in regional and national marketing & educational training activities to support the development and expansion of relationships and market share.
- Secures ongoing use of Boston Scientific solutions and field clinical support in scheduled Urological procedures in the assigned accounts, by intimate understanding of the workflow and stakeholder requirements, in line with set targets.
- Work with customer service department (devices, disposable and capital equipment specialists) on a daily basis, to ensure superior customer service and product use.
- Keep current on BSC new products or services being offered and give feedback to the corporate stakeholders on market receptivity, concerns or issues learned from the customers.
- Maintain an ongoing knowledge of all aspects of competitive product innovations, sales promotions, catalogs and advertising for personal sales effectiveness and corporate market intelligence.
- Attend industry trade shows and clinical congresses as assigned, responsible for event follow up, including a summary report to sales and marketing management, turning in orders, communicating problems for internal follow up, getting leads and sending appropriate follow-up correspondence.
- Maintain accurate record of sales activities, customer files and field sales reports required, communicating required information as needed. Exerts skills on used systems and processes for account reporting and opportunity planning in the CRM system.
- Creates and maintains accurate overview of replacement dates for existing equipment in order to ensure timely involvement of Boston Scientific in opportunities for renewal of own and replacement of competitor equipment.
What we are looking for:
- Working experience of 2 - 5 years in Urology in a sales role with proven track record of success, ideally with experience in Capital equipment sales and (laser) tenders.
- An appetite for commercial excellence and accountability
- Possessing an elaborate network amongst Dutch Urology stakeholders
- Higher Vocational level (HBO) education in a relevant field of healthcare or life sciences.
- Good knowledge of the Pelvic Floor & Urological anatomy, Stone & BPH (laser) procedures, and being fully at ease in an operating room environment.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills in Dutch and English.
- Excellent relationship creation and retainment skills.
- Creative and innovative thinking in meeting customer needs in a profitable manner.
- A pioneering mind and collaborative spirit to help build the Dutch Urology team at Boston Scientific.
