Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist 



About the Role:




Responsible for developing and executing of supplier integration plans for acquired sites. Establish & enhance supplier relationships to drive sourcing & supplier initiatives to meet or exceed product quality, service & deliver sustainable cost reductions, whilst reducing or mitigating risk in the Supply Chain. Serves as a point of contact for the site to liaise with Global Sourcing.



Your Responsibilities Include:  



  •  Partner ​with best in industry suppliers ​to provide materials, products, innovation, and services that drive a​ competitive advantage ​for Boston Scientific.
  • Manage supplier relationships for new suppliers, understanding inherent risks and proactively working to mitigate those risks. Responsible for contract and vendor onboarding activities for new suppliers. Coordinate with supplier relationship owners and category teams to manage existing suppliers. Escalates as appropriate.
  • Develop alternative sourcing plans in collaboration with category teams to drive towards ideal supply base.
  • Identifies cost reduction and value improvement pipeline. Strategically executes projects where opportunities exist in the schedule.
  • Collaborate with and influences core teams for NPD, integration, and transfers to support projects, identify and mitigate risk, align with strategic supply base, and deliver in accordance with schedules and cost targets.
  • Has hands-on experience in leading and conducting negotiations Is aware of and comprehends the principles of negotiation. Understands how business decisions and legal decisions work together in the negotiation process and knows who the decision-maker is in each negotiation. Understands and can utilize strategic sourcing methodologies (spend analysis, market research, benchmarking, negotiation, contracting and continuous improvement) as relevant to support integration activities.
  • Owns the bidding process and annual operation plan (budget), ensuring pricing inputs are correct, work to prevent supplier related unfavorable PPV and address any proposed increases.
  • May assist in developing healthy stock models to ensure adequate supply.
  • May from time-to-time cover purchasing responsibilities and assist with stock analysis to ensure adequate material coverage.




What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years Strategic Procurement (Sourcing) and Supplier Relationship Management
  • Proven quantitative abilities e.g., cost modeling, data analysis
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Medical Device or experience in a regulated industry is preferred
  • Experience working with acquisitions integration projects is preferred
