Boston Scientific Galway is seeking a highly motivated person with a strong interest in the project management career path to join the New Product Development team. Be a part of one of Boston Scientific’s most exciting areas of growth. 

This Project Management opportunity is within our Structural heart Valve business working with the dynamic and high growth Acurate product in the TAVR market. 

 

 

Job Purpose

  • The Project Manager will play an integral part in leading projects within the Structural Heart Valve business. Scope of projects includes all product support activities as it pertains to the product life cycle for the Acurate Aortic Valve System
  • The Project Manager will provide leadership to an interdisciplinary and international team of professionals.
  • Work directly with supporting cross-functions across business units and manufacturing sites.  Cross-functional teams include, but not limited to, Research & Development, Design Assurance, Packaging, Regulatory, Process Development, Operations, Supplier Engineering/Quality, Supply Chain and Clinical.

 

Project/Program Management

  • People Management: Manages small cross-functional development teams (with assistance); leads teams effectively; provides input to functional managers on team and team member performance.
  • Product/Technology Management: Manages the technical challenges of technology application and new product development; identifies, communicates, and manages low levels of technical risk.
  • Project/Program Management: Manages key initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes; develops (with assistance) and implements project plan; builds team ownership and commitment to project plan.
  • Process Management: Implements TDP/PDP; leads team to complete activities to current policies and practices; keeps documentation organized, creates Scaling Plan and Design History File for the project.
  • Communications and Reviews: Responsible for team and cross-functional communications; liaison between the team and the PIB; leads (with assistance) phase and business reviews, project meeting minutes, issues log, metrics, and other key communications.

 

Communication

  • Responsible for team and cross-functional level communications.
  • Responsible for elevating critical business decisions to the appropriate management boards and/or functional managers.

 

What we’re looking for:

Specialised Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in managing new product development activities that require collaboration with Divisional R&D, Program Management, Regulatory Affairs, Design Assurance, Process Development, Sustaining Engineering and Operations.  
  • Proven leadership skills in change management and project management 
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communications to project team and all stakeholders
  • Must be strong in people management and team building.
  • Must be proficient with MS Project.
  • The candidate will be required to travel internationally as appropriate to support business needs

 

Qualifications:

  • Level 8 bachelor’s degree (240 credits) in Engineering: electrical, mechanical, industrial, software, manufacturing; and certification in Project Management would be preferred.
  • 5+ years project management experience
  • Experience with development of medical devices a plus.
