We are seeking a Director - HR Business Partner on a permanent basis to join our team.

 

Job Purpose: 

 

As the Director, Human Resources Business Partner you will play a key role as a critical strategic partner leading people strategies that enable organisational growth, capability development, and cultural excellence at the Galway Campus.

Reporting to the Senior Director, HR Business Partner – EMEA & APAC (interim), this role will influence the broader regional HR agenda, collaborate across the region and functions, and ensure consistency with Boston Scientific’s global HR Operating Model.

The role contributes directly to the achievement of enterprise, regional, and site objectives through strategic talent, organisational effectiveness, and leadership development initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Galway Site Leadership Teams (SLT) while collaborating closely with HR leaders and client groups across the region.
  • Partner with function leaders and senior HR leadership to deliver talent solutions aligned with business and performance goals, and enterprise HR frameworks.
  • Partner with the Senior HR Director to drive enterprise-wide and regional HR initiatives while championing BSC’s HR Operating Model.

 

Organisation Structure, Design & Workforce Planning

  • Coach and lead organizational design exercises at all levels across the Organisation.
  • Design suitable organisation structure based on business needs; leveraging internal and external benchmarks and ensuring alignment with the Global Career Framework.
  • Lead workforce planning efforts that anticipate future capability needs, required competencies and skills, succession pipelines, and talent mobility with specific objectives to close talent gaps.
  • Use data and analytics to identify talent insights, trends, and risks; influence decision-making through evidence-based recommendations.

 

Talent Review and Succession Planning:

  • Understand the business and talent landscape to define the talent strategy required to achieve business goals.
  • Drive Talent Review and Succession Planning (TR&SP) to ensure effective succession planning across the organisation.

 

Employee Engagement, Culture & Inclusion

 

  • Support and coach leaders with culture and engagement action planning while fostering a culture that reflects BSC’s values, accelerates performance, and strengthens inclusion.
  • Monitor cultural / engagement factors internally and externally and support the generation of the necessary strategies to sustain and improve the organisations culture.
  • Sponsor EE representative VOICE Team enabling a direct engagement model.

 

Change Leadership

  • Guide leaders through organisational change using structured, transparent, and inclusive approaches.
  • Lead Org change communication plans for Manager and above talent moves and large scale organisational change.

 

HR Excellence & Enterprise Partnership

  • Leverage and partner with HR COEs to address and satisfy the strategic needs of the business.
  • Partner across the HR Operating Model to execute talent plans.
  • Collaborate with Ireland HR peers to leverage HR policy application, process integration, and knowledge-sharing across sites.
  • Direct and control the activities and budget of the site HR Function.

 

Leadership Effectiveness

  • Lead and develop the Galway HRBP team through coaching, capability building, clear goal alignment, and performance development.
  • Coach senior and executive leaders to build high-performing teams and to foster organisational effectiveness.
  • Lead Coaching for the SLT, identifying and addressing team development needs.
  • Observe leadership dynamics in the organisation and provide insights to HRBPs and COEs.
  • Drive accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration while contributing to Ireland HR leadership decision-making and be a key voice in shaping the Ireland HR strategy.Required Qualifications:

 

Required qualifications: 

 

  • Honours Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Human Resources, Business, or related field. Masters degree preferable.
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in progressive HR roles within large scale and global organizations with demonstrated success leading HR teams.
  • Deep knowledge of talent management, organisational effectiveness, leadership development, and strategic workforce planning.
  • Strong consultative skills with demonstrated ability to coach and influence senior leaders.
  • Experience navigating ambiguity, driving change, and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • High learning agility and ability to connect people strategies across functions and regions.
