We are seeking a Labratory Technician II on a  defined term (12 months) basis to join our team in our Galway site. The shift for this position is days.

 

Purpose

You will demonstrate commitment to the Quality Policy through your daily execution of sound quality practices and the maintenance of an effective quality system and complying with regulations governing the quality system.

 

Kay Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
  • Ensure compliance to all applicable regulatory standards and current GMP procedures and practices.
  • Delivery of key Quality and Performance Objectives.
  • Perform testing per established procedures, including Environmental Monitoring, Endotoxin and Bioburden testing, and Raw Material, In‑Process, and Finished Product analyses supporting Microbiology operations.
  • Collect, interpret and document laboratory data, generating clear and accurate reports to support testing activities.
  • Review and update of Laboratory Documentation.
  • Assist manufacturing/operations/quality in solving quality-related problems and continuous improvement investigations.
  • Ensure NCEP’s, laboratory investigations and out of specification results are documented and reported to Laboratory Management.
  • Support Internal and External Audits.
  • Communicate any concerns about work process regarding environmental impact, health or safety issues to their manager.
  • Build quality into all aspects of work by maintaining compliance to all quality requirements.
  • Perform and support additional tasks as assigned by the Microbiology Laboratory Manager.

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • NFQ Level 6 in a relevant STEM Discipline.
  • Minimum 2 - 5 years labratory experience in a medical device industry is essential.
  • Microbiology experience is desirable.
  • Decision making ability coupled with the ability to work on one’s own initiative and with minimal supervision.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
