We are seeking a R&D Engineer I/II on a permanent basis to join our team.

 

 

Job Purpose:

 

We are seeking an innovative and driven individual to join our Research & Development team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge solutions that will shape the future of our industry. As an R&D professional, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team of experts, working to advance technology, improve product offerings, and deliver solutions that make a lasting impact. Key responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct research to develop new products, technologies, and processes that meet the company’s goals and objectives. Identify new market trends and technological advancements that can drive innovation.
  • Work on designing, prototyping, and testing new products or product features. Use analytical tools and simulations to optimize designs and improve product performance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and design quality assurance to ensure that R&D projects meet both technical and business requirements.
  • Develop and perform testing protocols to evaluate the functionality, performance, and durability of devices. Analyse test data and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Identify and address technical challenges during the development cycle, using creative problem-solving techniques and a strong understanding of engineering principles.
  • Document all research, design specifications, test results, and development processes in detail. Ensure that all findings and design changes are properly recorded and stored for future reference.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements, bringing fresh ideas and approaches to the team. Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Ensure that all R&D activities adhere to safety regulations, quality standards, and relevant industry certifications.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to understand clinical needs and challenges.
  • Participate in collaborations with academic institutions, research organizations to foster innovation and stay ahead of industry developments.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and symposiums by conducting live product demonstrations, presenting technical information, and engaging with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders to showcase new developments and innovations.

 

 

Education & Experience:

 

 

  • NFQ level 8 qualification in a STEM discipline (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering. 
  • A minimum of 2 years’ industry experience with research & development experience in combination products considered an advantage
  • Experience in areas such as product and test method development would be beneficial.
  • Experience working with anatomical models is a plus.
  • Strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proactive initiative
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Available for international travel as required.
