About the Role:

Join Magellan, one of the most transformative programs ever and coach our Boston Scientific business to eliminate our historically accepted constraints.  The Magellan Program is a value-driven business transformation (leveraging a state of the art SAP S/4 platform) that will modernize the processes, ways of working, and technology that it takes to make and deliver products and services to our patients.​  We will Create Capacity, Unlock Insights and enable BSC to adapt with our business across Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, Commercial, Planning and Procurement.

Scrum Masters for Magellan will instrumental in forming agile practices across multiple scrum teams. In this role the individual will be a Scrum Master for one to two of the Magellan scrum teams. You should have demonstrated prior experience leading an Agile Scrum team and be highly motivated with excellent Communication, Change leadership, Courage to try new and coach our teams to chance and Accountability to deliver on commitments.

 

This role will also be a part of defining and executing Scaled Agile for BSC ERP (SABER) methodology as we deliver this significant Business Transformation and S4 technology using Agile.  In this position, collaboration with globally dispersed business partners and cross-functional team members is a key skill. 

 

Note this role can be based in close proximity to any of our Irish sites - Galway, Cork or Clonmel

 

Your Responsibilities include: 

  • Lead an Agile team to deliver solutions through all required sprints
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to by the team and be able to be a voice of reason and authority
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Encouraging Agile behaviors, reinforcing practices, norms, ceremonies, and supporting the overall performance and effectiveness
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Facilitate the Agile ceremonies necessary to help the team succeed
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Assess and coach teams to higher levels of Agile maturity and becoming self-organized and self-empowered
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Support the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Capture team metrics and manage product backlog, measure and track progress
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Remove impediments / blockers, shield the team from external interferences, and enable collaboration across all roles
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Escalate status and blockers to the appropriate governance forum
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Must be able to garner respect from the team and be willing to provide hands-on support to deliver results
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Be transparent with your business partners about status and develop business trust
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Facilitate discussion, decision making, conflict resolution and alternative approaches to challenges
  • <span style="font-family:"Helvetica",sans-serif">Resolves issues by working with team members, customers, and others as appropriate

What we're looking for:
 

Basic  Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years experience in Information Technology projects
  • Demonstrated success working in a highly collaborative, matrix environment, with a track record of accomplishments with measurable business impact
  • Strong sense of personal accountability and courage to change how we work
  • Proven aptitude to learn quickly and improve processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and business partners
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
     
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • SCRUM certification preferred
  • Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition
  • Experience with Agile tools (JIRA) but would be open to other tools
  • Experience coaching, and coordinating efforts with, multiple teams, Agile coaches and SCRUM masters within a matrixed organization
