Analyst II, Data Catalog

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, maintain, and enrich the enterprise data catalog through effective tagging, classification, and metadata curation.
  • Onboard new data assets by performing profiling, standardized tagging, and classification of critical data elements (CDEs) , partnering with data custodians, IT, Business stewards
  • Enhance visibility into data quality by creating logical groupings, relationships, and lineage views and promote self-service data usage across business functions.
  • Scan and ingest metadata from source systems and data consumers to ensure catalog completeness.
  • Curate metadata by reviewing and manually updating entries as needed to maintain accuracy and relevance.
  • Act as a point of contact for catalog navigation, search optimization, and data usage best practices
  • Map business terms to cataloged assets to ensure semantic alignment and support data discoverability.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Data Management, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with data profiling, cataloging, and data lineage using tools such as Informatica CDGC.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, particularly in metadata management and business term mapping.
  • Experience building or maintaining business glossaries or data dictionaries
  • Proficient in SQL and metadata querying for data analysis and validation.
  • Experience in medical device data management or related regulated industries preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, relevant to the Med-Device sector.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams.
