The UK and Ireland HR Leader role is critical to the effective delivery of HR services across the UK and Ireland, supporting the organisation’s strategic goals and continued growth.  The successful candidate will provide strategic focus to design and execute a people agenda for the UK and Ireland, enabling high performance and employee engagement. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Partner to the Country Leadership Team and the Country Lead- representing the HR Department internally and externally, consistently and with professionalism
  • Championing large-scale, strategic change initiatives, getting buy-in across the organisation at all levels
  • Developing a UK and Ireland Talent Strategy including diversity and inclusion, total rewards, talent acquisition, early careers (apprenticeships, internships, graduate programmes), employee engagement, talent development, leadership development, workforce planning, labour relations and succession planning
  • Translating key data into an effective and commercially-focused HR and people strategy, collaborating with senior management and influencing them on the best course of action
  • Being a key contributor to the development and execution of regional HR strategy and initiatives
  • HR service delivery including policy, employee relations, coaching, performance improvement and compensation
  • Interfacing with the HR Operations Team
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of the external legal and regulatory labour and employment environment, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements relative to HR and people practices.  Managing the strategic relationship with external legal counsel, overseeing complex employee relations issues such as grievance and disciplinary cases, managing difficult cases with professionalism
  • Leading, managing and developing a team of HR Business Partners



Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years’ HR experience in a multi-national organisation, with demonstrable knowledge of general human resources practices
  • Experience in talent management practices
  • Strong people management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
  • Ability to influence senior leaders
  • Adaptability and ability to manage complexity and work in matrix environment
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and executing change programmes
  • Demonstrable experience of executing divisional/ functional strategy execution at country level
  • Able to problem solve and demonstrate operational and strategic skills
  • Experience of acting as a role model, leading teams is essential
  • Demonstrates commercial acumen and partners with the business to deliver commercially focused people strategies with a solid understanding of company finances
