Role Purpose: 

 

This opportunity will be required to support the business nationally. 

  

This opportunity is to promote Boston Scientifics’ products through education and support of current & potential customers within the healthcare setting.  This will be while supporting clinical cases; through customer education and supporting complex software issues in order to achieve projected sales goals across the UK&IRE on specific product lines. 

  

Working within the Interventional Oncology arm of BSC, the predominant role of the Field Clinical Specialist will be to support the high growth technologies. 

 

 

  • TheraSphere, a radionuclide medical device and Simplicit90Y, a dosimetry software key in the clinical efficacy of the former. Helping customers engage in prospective and retrospective personalised dosimetry treatment planning to ensure the best possible treatment outcomes.  
  • Ablation portfolio, comprising of RFA and Cryoablation technologies which have indications in many benign and malignant treatment pathways.  

  

 

 

  

Key Responsibilities: 

 

 

Commercial Support: 

 

 

  • Without appreciable direction, serve as expert for clinical support consisting of tackling complex issues relating to patient treatment planning, technology and clinical troubleshooting, as well as patient follow-up for company products. 
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using appropriate formats and platforms (e.g., slides, manuals) to keep all customers abreast of the latest product, therapy, and technology developments and current items of interest in the industry. 
  • Perform clinical and library research and participate in case reviews and clinical observation by working with physicians and hospital staff. 
  • Meet with existing and potential clients to identify their clinical needs, goals, and constraints related to patient care and to discuss and demonstrate how company products can help them to achieve their goals, educating the MDT as well as the clinical operators. 
  • Maintain business relationships with hospital personnel (e.g., through casual conversation, meetings, participation in conferences) to make new contacts in other departments within hospital and to identify key decision makers in order to facilitate future sales. 
  • Respond to all customer needs and complaints regarding products and service by developing optimal creative and feasible solutions. 
  • Lead specialized project teams & provide technical leadership to Business Unit Heads.  Participate in the development of other team members by facilitating training and providing feedback and guidance, working within the EMEA team to educate peers and other internal stakeholders.  

 

 

Skills and Expertise Required: 

 

 

  • BSc in Radiotherapy or equivalent (ie. Completed the Clinical Scientist Training programme) 
  • Educational experience in or post qualification experience in Nuclear Medicine/Medical Physics preferred.  
  • Broad knowledge of routine and complex Nuclear Medicine and radiological Imaging techniques. 
  • Radiotherapy software experience is preferred, or a clinical understanding of dosimetry 
  • Experience of supporting complex clinical trials or case management using imagining technologies. 
  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, a relationship builder, be organized and be a strong problem solver.
