Purpose Statement 

 


    
This position is responsible for leading and developing the performance and processes of Tender management across the UK and Ireland.
This position will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure that all tender opportunities are submitted to a high quality, identifying additional value add opportunities. 
This position will be able to actively promote and represent Boston Scientific direct to customers and create mutually acceptable partnerships and in turn build strong commercial networks within Boston Scientific. The position is based in Hemel Hempstead UK and reports to Customer Care Manager UK & Ireland. The position has a team of 5 tender coordinators reporting directly. 

 


Key Responsibilities 

 

 

 

  • Responsible for leading and developing all areas, including strategic aspects of the tender process across UK and Ireland.  
  • Responsible for supporting key stakeholders to make sure tenders are submitted in a timely manner, professional level and according to legal requirements.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date with local rules and legislations regarding public tenders.
  • Responsible for developing first-class relationships within the organisation; Building a partnership approach with business leaders, sales teams in the provision of tenders and quotations, making regular contact (including visits) with purchasing departments, in identifying sales enhancement opportunities and in implementing any service improvement programmes. 
  • Responsible for working with National Framework Manager to develop and shape procurement pathways for GPO's and hub's in the UKI. 
  • Responsible for providing the daily management and direction of the pricing and tender team; Monitors team performance against service indicators on an ongoing basis, initiating corrective actions, preparing reports, summaries, analysis and documentation on all aspects of department function.
  • Performs all personnel management activities for pricing and tender staff, including recruitment, training, performance appraisal, salary management and professional development in collaboration with HR Manager; Coaches others in the team on a disciplined customer services model.
  • Responsible for review of terms, conditions and quality submission of all tendering documentation. 
  • Reporting upwards to Customer Care Manager UKI regarding the Win/Loss percentage and strategic initiative to improve this year on year. 
  • Demonstrates awareness of broad industry trends and their impact on local/regional sales activities, with a particular focus on the procurement initiatives in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland
