About the role

In this role you will lead efforts to sustain a variety of BSC products currently in the market.  You will work with a variety of functions to extend the lifecycle of assigned products.  You will represent Product Ownership for products from design freeze through product retirement.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Provides significant guidance and approval regarding design changes for design owned products
  •  Ensure the safety, quality, and compliance of launched products by working with associated sustaining functions including Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Packaging, and Operations
  • Identifies and resolves all issues related to product performance 
  • Drives functional excellence initiatives, delivers high quality functional deliverables, and ensures technical excellence for product or technical development. 
  • Drives technical projects of major magnitude and scope. 
  • Ensures continued intellectual property development self and staff. 
  • Owns intellectual property development for the multiple product lines, technologies or specialized functions. 
  • Determines appropriate staff levels, schedules and resources. 
  • Drives the development and continuous improvement of department tools and methodologies.  
  • Represent the function and role of his/her group and technical skill sets, to other groups and/or divisions. 
  • Determines project staff assignments and schedules work to meet completion dates and R&D deliverables. 
  • Establishes cross-functional team relationships. 
  • Provides an overview of the function and role of his/her group, technical skill sets, to other groups and/or divisions. 
  • Works cross-functionally in identifying and resolving technical issues. 
  • Drives and evaluates project and department progress, technical development plans, and results.

In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

For those individuals that supervise others, the following statements are applicable:

        Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.

        Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Licenciature degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Electronic, Electrical Industrial Maintenance.
  • English Level desired: 90%-95%
  • Experience: At least 7 years
  • Experience in the medical industry
  • Technical Competencies: Design control methods such as Risk Analysis (dFMEA, pFMEA), Design Validation and Verification plans, protocol and report generation, PDP/TDP system.
