About the role:

The Principal ATR Analyst role operates within the company’s Global Business Services Account to Report organization to provide high quality accountancy expertise and services to various client businesses within Boston Scientific Corporation. This role performs a variety of complex duties in general accounting such as analyzing accounts, booking necessary journal entries, preparing reports, managing software interfaces and performing the monthly financial close and consolidation. This role measures performance against key performance indicators and metrics, and continually identifies ways to improve and streamline processes.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Delivers project results and deliverables on-time, on-budget through effective risk and project management, and by motivating and influencing others.
  • Develops positive working relationships with several groups within BSC, including local sites and other departments and acts as liaison for projects and cross-functional training.
  • Project Type: Lean/Kaizen, System implementations, Acquisitions, and Integrations.
  • Project Scale: Regional and Global large-scale, cross-functional projects and likely to work on more than one project at a time.
  • Influences and creates the Value Improvement strategy for our end-to-end and regional processes.
  • Makes continuous improvement recommendations and presents project conclusions to businesses, functions and management by leveraging leading practices, monitoring performance metrics, and benchmarking performance across end-to-end business processes.
  • Participates in the month-end close process and acts as liaison with supported sites, as needed.
  • Supports the accountants on the team, including mentoring and approving journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information through preparation of reports and general ledger journal entries.
  • Assures financial accuracy for all supported sites and supports all legal entity closings on a monthly basis.
  • Takes an active interest in seeking opportunities for continuous improvement and standardizing processes across multiple legal entities.
  • Establishes and communicates accounting processes by maintaining a thorough understanding of SOX controls, GAAP, and new accounting guidance as appropriate.
  • Works to deliver upon key performance metrics and service levels agreed with business partners.

 

Minimal requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • 5-7 years’ relevant experience.
  • English level desired: Fluent.
  • Open to working across global time zones.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to act as team lead of accountants.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must have highly developed customer relationship skills with strong service orientation.
  • Experience working in shared service environment preferred.
  • Holds self accountable to a performance metric culture building performance excellence.
  • Strong integrity.
  • Respects others.
  • Inquisitive and takes an active interest in opportunities to improve the efficiency of work.
  • Team member.

 

Preferred requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of tools and systems (SAP ECC, SAP HANA, Excel, etc.). 
  • Experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint.
