About the Role:

 

 

The Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs (QA RA) Information Technology function at BSC is seeking a customer-centric and technically skilled solution architect. This person will be focused on evaluating Quality & Regulatory business needs across the enterprise, assessing products and capabilities to meet those needs, and helping to deliver and support solutions that enable business strategies and objectives. Partnering with our IT QA & RA team members and their stakeholders, the person in this role will iterate on and oversee the IT QA RA technology strategy, roadmap, and solutions that meet stakeholders’ needs. This role provides architectural direction for business processes and technologies for their area of responsibility within the IT organization in accordance with Enterprise Architecture guidelines.

 

 

Your responsibilities:

 

 

  • Develops solutions to complex technical problems by challenging traditional technical assumptions.
  • Identifies innovative uses of Information Technology to provide a competitive advantage for BSC.
  • Drives strategic architecture changes throughout the organization.
  • Defines, promotes, and supports the principles and standards of the enterprise architecture.
  • Architecturally consults and supports multiple large, complex, cross-functional or divisional projects.
  • Champions a policy, process, or technology that delivers significant advances.
  • Demonstrates direct methods of influence at the corporate and global level through development of industry recognized publications.
  • Recognizes architectural problem areas and determines ways to effectively resolve them.
  • Own the intake process for functional IT needs
  • Create cross-functional collaboration by speaking expertly on both the business goals and the technology vision
  • Collaborate with the broader BSC IT Architect community to ensure functional needs are represented
  • Define, promote, and support the principles and standards of the enterprise architecture
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with a diverse group of business, functional and technical teams
  • Translate business goals into appropriate solutions while assessing feasibility and optimization of the solution
  • Develop proof of concepts to demonstrate proposed technical solutions
  • Participate in the development of cost/benefit analyses; drives buy/rent/build analyses
  • Make recommendations on implementation of applications that meet the business capability requirements by assessing both existing and new solutions
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex solutions and value to all key stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for business process improvements
  • Work collaboratively, effectively, and efficiently with stakeholders to ensure alignment and prioritization of goals and resources across multiple stakeholders, project priorities, and organizational initiatives

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of combined IT Analyst, Developer or Architect experience
  • 5+ years working on Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software platforms
  • Must have experience collecting and documenting business capability needs and recommending solutions in a strategic plan
  • Proven leadership in partnering with external vendors and business partners on projects
  • Experience in regulated environment
  • Experience working in a matrix environment and delivering projects and services via a combination of internal, contract, and outsourced resources
  • Ability to travel a small percentage of time as needed (less than 25%) 
  • English language required C2: 90-95%

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Medical device, life sciences industry background preferred
  • Experience with Agile methodologies preferred
  • Experience developing IT solutions supporting Quality and Regulatory functional processes (e.g. Complaint Management, CAPA, Regulatory Approvals, Device Tracking)
