About the role: 

 

The software sustaining test engineer will join a small and highly effective product software test team, reporting to manager in Heredia, working side-by-side with test leads in an Agile environment, developing, debugging and fixing test cases for continuously test the current software features, a wide range of software components, including user interface, algorithms, and back-end data handling.  

The position may also include create and execute test scripts, unit test, automated writing of test scripts, and interacting with a variety of electronic equipment in the lab. We are looking for an engineer with a strong computer science background or any prior software lifecycle experience to join our exciting and fast-paced software test team.  You will be involved in test automation which requires coding skills in Python, or C++. Our tools include Squish, Python, C+, Jira, Jenkins and Linux. 

This engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing software systems, ensuring their viability and performance. This role focuses on diagnosing and fixing software issues, improving code quality, and implementing features to extend the product lifecycle. This engineer will work closely with test teams, including support and quality assurance, to ensure that software solutions meet user needs and maintain high standards of reliability and performance. 

 

Your Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Design, develop and execute test cases to ensure the quality of the product by proving system functionality, verify business and user requirements are met in Electrophysiology domain area. 
  • Create, execute automated test scripts. 
  • Debug and fix issues on the automated test scripts within its verification points 
  • Debug and fix issues that may be related to the automation framework. 
  • Perform nightly Jenkins build, continuous monitoring of performance builds and work closely with multiple scrum teams to resolve automation questions and analysis of test results 
  • Ensure that tests have been conducted in accordance with written procedures. 
  • Document test results and write test reports. 
  • Record and track defects in a bug tracking system. 

 

 

Minimum requirements: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field. 

  • 2+ years of experience in Testing for product quality required.  

  • Programing languages like Python and/or C++ 

  • Experience in test automation including design, developing and execution of automated test scripts 

  • Advance English level 

  • Submit resume in English 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • A strong product quality and testing experience preferably in medical device domain or avionics industry. 

  • Strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams 

  • A natural attention to detail and a penchant for organizing and documenting. 

  • A good learner who can master complex software and quickly adapt to new tools and technologies. 

  • Ability to work independently as well as work collaboratively as part of a team
