R&D Neuromodulation Embedded SW Engineer II Job

About the role:

We are looking for talented individuals with a passion for embedded software and medical devices. These individuals will be part of a highly technical, high performance team that is in charge of the development of next generation neurostimulators for the treatment  of neural disorders like Parkinson’s Disease and Chronic Pain. These individuals will be prototyping and developing embedded mobile applications for the control of medical devices,  as well as designing how these mobile applications interact with the patient to provide the best treatment possible. We are looking for individuals with practical experience in the development of Android or iOS applications, familiarity with mobile frameworks and APIs, good understanding of low and high level programming principles and eager to enter the world of medical devices.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Translate user requirements into UI mockups for app development and prototyping. Develop those requirements with inputs from different stakeholders.
  • Generate specifications; Define architecture designs and use models; determine schedules; generate test plans, reports, and other documentation related to product development activities and product upgrades.
  • Use standard development processes to support product development & improve productivity.
  • Understand Test Environment Specifications, automated tests and version control
  • Operate with technical independence and provide leadership to other software engineers & technicians.  Coordinate design & implementation activities with multiple teams.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor in Computer Science or related field.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) Methodologies
  • Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
  • Solid programming skills in both compiled and interpreted languages. Familiarity with Java, Kotlin or Swift are a must, depending on experience.
  • Knowledge of Bluetooth communication protocol and stack is a plus.
  • Experience with python and C++ is highly desirable but not required.
  • Desirable English: 80%+
  • 1 to 2+ years of experience.
  • Academic or professional experience with microcontrollers or prototype hardware is a plus.  
  • Medical Device Design experience preferable or regulated industry experience (medical/automotive/aviation)
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
