About the role:
Boston Scientific is seeking a product cybersecurity analyst whose primary responsibility is to provide technical expertise in leading the effort for completing product cybersecurity assessments/questionnaires received from Boston Scientific customers. This role offers a unique opportunity for a highly skilled Information Technology (IT)  professional to become an expert on Boston Scientific’s medical systems and devices, leverage technical expertise in assisting with imperative customer security assessments/questionnaires, provide local direction/guidance to a team of analysts whose main responsibility is to complete customer security assessments/questionnaires, identify and implement solutions (e.g. people, tools, processes) to improve program and service, and to partner closely with R&D and other functions to ensure stakeholder satisfaction.

The candidate must have a combination of strong technical, organization, and communication skills in order to lead and assist a team of analysts whose main focus is to complete customer cybersecurity requests on BSC products and systems. This individual will be expected to manage resources, partner with R&D, provide technical expertise, work with hospital IT teams to address questions/concerns on BSC products, and identify program improvements. The ideal candidate for this role is someone with a strong IT and/or cybersecurity background and is looking to leverage that experience to manage and assist with complicated cybersecurity requests received from customers.

This role is part of the Global Research and Development organization, reporting to the security Manager in Global Product Cybersecurity.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Manage the intake and allocation of new requests amongst team members to ensure requests are meeting expected turnaround times with high quality
  • Provide day-to-day management of requests, people, tools, and other resources to ensure the program is efficiently run
  • Monitor requests to ensure they are being completed on time and with high quality
  • Generate insightful metrics and reports on a defined cadence to keep stakeholders informed, communicate value of program, educate product teams on customers’ main concerns and questions, and demonstrate growth of cybersecurity maturity for BSC products
  • Work with team members to identify areas of improvement and implement process changes, tools, and resources to address opportunities
  • Update and manage internal systems requiring updates (e.g. SharePoint, PowerApps, Outlook)
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on IT and cybersecurity technical areas to provide team members support in completing complicated questions and/or to address operational issues
  • Assist team members as needed with completing high priority cybersecurity assessments/requests   
  • Mentor team of analysts to encourage growth, positive change, and improvements
  • Partner with R&D product engineers to educate and inform customers about the cybersecurity of Boston Scientific products and systems
  • Work with internal Boston Scientific stakeholders to monitor, discuss, and improve program
  • Continuously grow skills through education, training, conferences, or other means
  • Work independently to identify and remediate operational issues
  • Engage and contribute to team discussions to ensure all voices and perspectives are included
  • Mindset of ownership and continuous improvement with a drive for positive change on the team through proactive work

What we're looking for: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5+ years Information Technology experience
  • 2+ years of direct technical experience &/or technical lead for an IT operations team
  • Understanding of Information Technology security concepts
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Drive and passion for information technology, cybersecurity, medical devices, and excellence  
  • English level 90% or more
