Clinical Field Engineer - P1

 

Purpose Statement

 

The Field Clinical Engineer (FCE) is responsible for the day-to-day field execution and management of Boston Scientific clinical trials at selected clinical trial centers in accordance with clinical protocol requirements, world-wide regulatory body compliance guidelines, and corporate and departmental objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Training on and maintaining knowledge of clinical trial protocols, CRV Clinical Department standard operating procedures, and compliance toward the regulations of world-wide regulatory bodies.
  • Managing clinical trial activity within his/her assigned territory by completing Interest Visits and Initiation Visits, as needed, at all centers, assisting as appropriate with center preparation and facilitating the IRB approval process, and preparing the center for enrollments into the clinical trial.
  • Providing intial and continuous, as needed, training and education for clinical center personnel and sales representatives (as appropriate) on clinical trial protocol, clinical process, products and features, and procedures involving those products and features.
  • Providing technical support for clinical trial procedures including implants and follow up visits.    This includes direct patient contact in the hospital or clinic setting.
  • Following company and divisional guidelines for managing inventory used in the clinical trial protocol throughout the clinical process.
  • Traveling to accommodate clinical trial implant and follow up case coverage, and in general, supporting the clinical center personnel and enrolled patients by being on call 24 hours a day and 7 days a week as needed.
