About the role:
The Principal Medical Specialist is a key leader in promoting clinical excellence and technician performance through strategic education, targeted coaching, and robust quality assurance practices. This role is critical in developing educational frameworks, identifying and addressing knowledge gaps, and collaborating with both internal stakeholders and external clinical partners to ensure delivery of high-quality patient care. This health care professional collaborates directly with Medical Directors and other team members cross-functionally to provide medical input and oversight throughout the product lifecycle as an advocate for patient safety. This role will also provide Medical Support for two Medicare-enrolled Independent Diagnostic Testing Facilities (IDTFs) where qualified lab personnel are available 24/7 to provide the technical component of the remote diagnostic monitoring services in accordance with the ordering provider’s event, notification and delivery protocols, and applicable payor guidelines and requirements.

Your responsiblities will inculde:
- Educational Content Oversight:
Review, validate, and approve educational materials to ensure alignment with clinical standards, best practices, and regulatory guidelines. - Assessment Program Leadership:
Lead the creation and administration of End-of-Year (EOY) and Mid-Year competency exams to assess technician knowledge and guide educational planning. - ECG Interpretation & Signal Review:
Perform in-depth reviews of ECG signals to identify clinical and educational gaps; apply expert-level rhythm interpretation to guide feedback and training. - Advanced Coaching & Mentorship:
Facilitate one-on-one and group coaching sessions focused on improving rhythm recognition, clinical judgment, and escalation accuracy. - Medical Director Collaboration:
Partner with the IDTF Medical Director to regularly review and refine training materials, ensuring clinical consistency and relevancy. - Customer-Facing Incident Support:
Engage in escalated or reactive customer interactions involving clinical quality concerns; support investigation and resolution in collaboration with operational leaders. - Process Improvement & Tooling:
Identify software tools or workflow enhancements to improve technician efficiency, accuracy, and confidence in complex rhythm recognition.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, life sciences, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cardiac monitoring, technician education, or clinical quality assurance
- Proven ability to interpret ECG rhythms with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong understanding of arrhythmia detection, telemetry, and ambulatory cardiac monitoring workflows
- Demonstrated experience in working independently, managing time and priorities with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to give clear and constructive feedback
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement
