The Facilities Manager will play a critical leadership role in the startup and long-term operation of Boston Scientific's new North American Distribution Center in Plainfield, Indiana. During construction and the tenant improvements phase, this individual will lead operational readiness activities, including commissioning support, maintenance strategy development, asset onboarding, contractor mobilization, standard operating procedure development and facility handover planning.
Following site startup, the Facilities Manager will serve as the permanent facilities leader for the campus, responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, reliable and cost-effective operation of building infrastructure, utilities, employee services and facility support functions. Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
This is an on-site position based at Boston Scientific's North American Distribution Center in Plainfield, Indiana. Regular on-site presence is required to support facility operations, site startup and business needs. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Lead operational readiness, commissioning support, facility turnover and startup activities for the new Plainfield distribution center.
• Establish and manage preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programs for building systems, utilities and critical infrastructure.
• Lead facility operations, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection systems, building automation systems, dock equipment, building envelope and grounds.
• Manage facility contractors and service providers, including janitorial, landscaping, snow removal, pest control, cafeteria services and other employee support services.
• Implement and maintain the site's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), asset register and maintenance strategy.
• Support environmental health and safety, business continuity and emergency preparedness programs for the site.
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Environmental Health and Safety, Security, IT, HR, and Global Facilities & Real Estate to support business objectives and operational excellence.
• Develop and manage facilities operating budgets, capital projects, utility programs, sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, construction management, industrial technology or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in facilities management, maintenance leadership, engineering, manufacturing support, warehouse operations support or a related technical environment.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience leading employees, contractors and external service providers.
• Experience managing building infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical systems, fire protection systems and building automation systems.
• Experience developing and managing operating budgets, capital projects and service contracts.
• Experience implementing or managing preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Ability to work on-site in Plainfield, Indiana.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience supporting distribution centers, logistics operations, warehouse facilities or automated material handling environments.
• Experience supporting facility startup, commissioning, operational readiness or greenfield construction projects.
• Experience in a regulated industry, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or health care.
• Experience with FM Global standards, LEED-certified facilities, environmental management systems or energy management programs.
• Experience with building automation systems, warehouse automation, robotics or material handling systems.
• Experience managing environmental health and safety programs, contractor safety programs and emergency preparedness initiatives.
• Master's degree or relevant professional certification, such as CFM, FMP, PMP, LEED AP, PE or equivalent.

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
