Business Development Manager – Cardiology (Georgia, Azerbaijan & Pakistan)
Purpose of the Role
The Business Development Manager – Cardiology is responsible for driving profitable growth and therapy expansion for Boston Scientific Cardiology Division across assigned indirect markets through best-in-class distributor management, market development, and strategic execution. The role focuses on expanding access to interventional cardiology solutions in emerging healthcare systems while ensuring compliance with Boston Scientific standards.
Key Responsibilities
Distributor Management
- Manage and develop distributors across Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan to achieve sales, profitability, and market share targets
- Develop, evaluate and drive annual operating plans, sales targets, and joint business plans aligned to NC division
- Conduct quarterly business reviews covering sales performance, pipeline, pricing, inventory, and margins
- Identify and develop reference centers, cath labs, and key interventional cardiologists
- Support product launches, clinical education programs, proctorships, and physician training
- Partner with regional marketing and clinical teams to execute congresses and workshops,
- Ensure accurate sales forecasting, demand planning, and inventory management
- Support pricing strategy and tender submissions to balance competitiveness and profitability
- Provide strategic guidance on government tenders, institutional contracts, and large accounts
- Monitor tender pipelines and competitive positioning
- Partner with Regulatory, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure product availability and approvals
- Act as the key interface between distributors and Boston Scientific’s regional functions (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Clinical)
- Ensure distributors meet required standards for training, documentation, and post-market surveillance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 7–10+ years of experience in Medical Devices preferably in Cardiology
- Strong distributor management, negotiation, and influence skills
- Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability
- Financial acumen (pricing, margins, forecasting)
- Able to work in a multi-functional and multicultural environment
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Fluent in English
- Willingness to travel extensively (40–60%)
