Accounting & Controls Manager

[Role Overview]
Responsible for leading the Korea accounting team members to establish and maintain an effective accounting framework and related internal controls to ensure that the financial records are complete and accurate and in compliance with local laws and regulations and US-GAAP, as well as Corporate policies.
[Key Responsibilities]
The responsibilities will be inclusive of but not limited to the following:
- Oversees Korea’s financial and accounting processes to ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles/Standards and ethical standards with unyielding integrity.
- Strong partnership with the Global Business Service (GBS) Service Delivery teams and collaborate with Country CFO to standardize the process, drive efficiency, and promote agility without compromising on quality
- Work closely with the Corporate Finance team in areas on Finance Policies and accounting treatment, including restructuring, integration and consolidation, revenue and leasing.
- Drives compliance in all finance-related matters (SOX, Audit, Statutory, monthly Closing) and leads the country/regional Balance Sheet Review
- Develops and implements accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in support with business processes
- Leads and takes charge of all Finance audit request for Korea
- Leads and directly manage the Korea Accounting & Controls team (2 direct reports)
[Requirements]
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (master's degree or professional certifications such as CPA or CMA preferred).
- 10-15 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with managerial or supervisory experience (Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls).
- Fluent in oral & written English / Korean.
- Experience in managing statutory and local tax requirements.
- Proven experience in leading and managing external audits (financial & tax) with a proactive and hands-on approach.
- Ability to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and provide insights for decision-making.
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion).
- Experience in working in a multi-national company.
