Maintenance Supervisor

In this role you are responsible for managing maintenance of all Kerkrade warehouse related equipment. You will work closely with internal technical staff and with external equipment vendors in order to ensure the required uptime of the equipment. Also you manage the maintenance team and make sure that maintenance staff is trained. Ensuring that proper service level agreements are in place is also part of this job. You act as a service provider for the operations department and work closely with operations, engineers and technology SME's. You will coordinate new installations and documentation.
The maintenance supervisor will report to the Facility Manager 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, leads and provides direction to technicians and maintenance engineer;
  • Contributes to financial budgets and department goals that support the EMEA and Global Logistics strategy;
  • Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance in order to ensure uptime target and within the response times agreed;
  • Will work according to Boston Scientific guidelines;
  • Leads or supports new equipment and possible installation of equipment;
  • Makes training strategy and training plan for maintenance staff;
  • Responsible for developing the strategic direction; 
  • Contributes to goals of the equipment maintenance department to ensure alignment with corporate and site objectives;
  • Develop and maintain internal systems to ensure compliance with quality standards (FDA, cGMP, QSR, ISO) and be the maintenance subject matter expert (SME) for internal and external audits.  Implement corrective actions as assigned.  Specific areas of compliance responsibility include all sort of maintenance, employee/contractor training, and supplier controls related to maintenance contractors and vendors;
  • Ensures proper setup and usage of maintenance software systems;
  • Develop and maintain equipment KPI's. Reports summary performance to senior management and elevates appropriately.
  • Ensures proper documentation of all equipment and maintenance records;
  • Plans, budgets, and schedules equipment modifications and upgrades including collecting requirements, developing SOW, and developing estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs;
  • Maintain service level agreements, check adherence to these agreements and where needed ensures action plans are in place with external vendors;
  • Analyze maintenance processes and problems and identify, prioritize, coach and lead continuous improvement efforts utilizing problem solving methods. Report project plans, progress, and results. Embraces the Boston Scientific Essentials;
  • Direct team activities, establishing task priorities, scheduling and tracking work assignments, providing guidance, and ensuring the availability of resources;
  • Interacts with peers and managers to ensure expected service;
  • Fosters a culture of compliance by operating within guidelines and procedures, leading by example, and focusing on risk assessment and elimination;
  • Direct departmental cost reduction activity and set cumulative goals both internally and externally with suppliers.  Report project plans, progress, and results;
  • Demonstrates adept project management skills, including project chartering, timeline development and management of deliverables;
  • Manages department budget activities.  Develop capital expenditure requests for equipment related expenditures;
  • Understands and proactively follows through on the Environmental Management Procedures that have been identified as relevant to position.

Required qualifications and skills:

  • Relevant technical study;
  • 5+ years’ work experience in a related field, preferably in maintenance management in a similar organizational setting;
  • 3+ years of experience in managing a team;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others;
  • Strong negotiation skills;
  • High level of initiative and autonomy; ability to work independently;
  • Strong command of English (verbal & writing) and preferably Dutch;
  • Effective manager and motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices in line with department and company objectives.
